I’m really loving The Other Bennet Sister, that new period drama! It’s a shame, though – it looks like we’re going to have to be patient because new episodes aren’t coming for a while. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

The first five episodes dropped all at once on BBC iPlayer on March 15th. The remaining episodes, six through ten, will be available starting March 29th at 6am.

Everyone’s eager to know if this adaptation of Janice Hadlow’s novel will tell the whole story, or if they’re leaving room for more. Will there be The Other Bennet Sister season 2?

As much as I loved ‘The Other Bennet Sister,’ I’m not holding my breath for a season two. It feels like they really wrapped things up nicely, since the show was based on a book and they seem to have told the whole story already. It’s a shame, but it looks like what we got was a complete adaptation.

Screenwriter Sarah Quintrell, discussing the series with The TopMob Writers’ Room, expressed her enthusiasm for continuing the project, but explained she’d like to explore new perspectives and approaches to storytelling rather than simply continuing the same narrative.

Quintrell explained in a recent interview that the biggest difficulty in bringing the novel to the screen was its size. He noted, “The book is massive, and I had to fit it into ten half-hour episodes for television.”

It seems likely the TV series closely follows Janice Hadlow’s novel and will only have one season. However, this hasn’t been officially confirmed. Like other shows based on books, a second season could potentially continue the story beyond what’s in the novel.
