With Resident Evil Requiem now released, players are naturally curious about future updates. Will there be any downloadable content, and if so, when might it become available?
Many Resident Evil 9 players have already completed the game multiple times, trying to figure out the solution to the tricky Final Challenge puzzle. But after solving it, what else is there to expect from the game?
Let’s break down the Resident Evil Requiem DLC and discuss what it means for future content – we’ll try to make everything clear and help you decide if there’s anything to look forward to.
Will there be Resident Evil Requiem DLC?
As of today, Capcom hasn’t made any official announcements about downloadable content (DLC) for Resident Evil Requiem.
We’re fairly sure RE9 will get downloadable content in the future, considering past games in the series and recent discussions among fans.
Players likely recall that Capcom previously added a significant story expansion to their last major new game, Resident Evil Village (2021), and also to their most recent remake, Resident Evil 4 (2023).
Warning: If you keep reading, we will be getting into some spoilers!
It looks like Resident Evil Requiem might be getting some downloadable content, hinted at for players who reach a specific ending. If you haven’t finished the game this way, be warned – spoilers ahead!
One possible ending shows Chris Redfield sending a special BSAA team to help the main characters. This suggests Chris might be a key figure in future downloadable content for the game, potentially even as a playable character, much like the “Not A Hero” expansion in the previous game.
Adding to the speculation, a known Resident Evil insider, Dusk Golem, has suggested that downloadable content is planned for Resident Evil Requiem, increasing the chances it’s true. Even if we don’t fully trust that information, the question remains: when could this DLC be released?

When could the Resident Evil Requiem DLC release?
As a big fan, I’m trying to stay optimistic, but honestly, looking at how long previous DLC took to come out, I’m guessing we probably won’t see the Resident Evil Requiem DLC until at least September 2026. It’s a long wait, but hopefully it’ll be worth it!
The Separate Ways DLC for Resident Evil 4 Remake came out in September 2023, about six months after the original game launched in March 2023.
The Shadows of the Rose expansion for Resident Evil Village came out in October 2022, following the game’s original release in May 2021 by about five months.
The ‘Not A Hero’ DLC for Resident Evil 7 came out in December 2017, almost a year after the game first released in January 2017.
