Reports surfaced on Wednesday that William Shatner, best known as Captain Kirk from *Star Trek*, was briefly hospitalized after a health scare at his home. According to TMZ, paramedics were called because he had a blood sugar issue, but his representative assured the public he was doing okay. Despite the initial reports, there was little official information, which led to concern among fans. Shatner has since addressed the reports himself.
William Shatner, a frequent user of X (formerly Twitter), addressed recent concerns about his health after reports circulated suggesting a serious incident. He posted that he had simply overindulged and reassured fans he was doing well. He urged people not to believe everything they read in tabloids or generated by AI. He included a photo from his appearance on *Murdoch Mysteries*, where he played Mark Twain, with a caption referencing the famous line, “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!”
I admit I went a little overboard, but I’m doing okay, and I appreciate everyone’s concern. Please, don’t believe everything you read in the tabloids or see created by artificial intelligence – I’m fine!

As a big fan, it’s honestly unsettling how often people report William Shatner as having passed away! It started back in 2018 with a Facebook rumor, and he had to tweet to set things straight. But it didn’t stop there. There have been multiple death hoaxes – including one last year where a fake YouTube video claimed he’d died in a car crash, and even Microsoft’s AI incorrectly listed him as deceased! Each time, he’s thankfully been quick to respond and assure everyone he’s still with us. It’s just weird how often this happens to him!
At 94, William Shatner is still working! He recently voiced a character in the animated series *Masters of the Universe: Revolution* and even made a cameo as himself on *The Big Bang Theory* in 2019. He also continues to attend fan conventions, where he connects with fans and talks about his career and iconic roles.
William Shatner is most famous for his role as Captain Kirk in Star Trek. He played the character for years, appearing in the original TV series, the animated show, seven movies, and several video games. Recently, he returned to the role in a special short film featuring Captain Kirk and Spock, created with the cooperation of the Nimoy estate and Shatner himself. The video was hugely popular with fans, who felt it was a touching tribute to both actors and a satisfying conclusion to their characters’ stories.
