William Shatner Speaks Out After Rumored Hospitalization

William Shatner is doing just fine.

Following reports that 94-year-old actor William Shatner, known for his role in *Star Trek*, was hospitalized on September 24th due to a health issue, Shatner addressed the rumors and clarified what happened.

I ate a bit too much,” Shatner shared in an Instagram post on September 25th. “I appreciate everyone’s concern, but I’m doing well. As I’ve said before, don’t believe everything you read in tabloids or generated by AI!”

William Shatner shared a photo with the famous quote, “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!” along with a message of his own.

TopMob News has contacted representatives for William Shatner about reports of a health emergency, but they haven’t received a response yet.

William Shatner is remarkably fit and energetic for his age, but he’s also been candid about his health challenges. He first developed tinnitus-a constant ringing in the ears-after filming a physically demanding episode of *Star Trek* in 1960, and says it’s naturally worsened with age.

He explained to TopMob News in 2023 that the condition causes your brain to get used to the sound, similar to how someone living near an airport would adapt. He described it as potentially leading to a complete loss of the ability to enjoy music.

Despite facing difficulties, Shatner doesn’t stay discouraged. He explains it by saying, “Things can be really tough, but I know I’ll get through them.”

Even in his nineties, Shatner has made it clear he doesn’t intend to retire. He continues to revisit his iconic role as Captain Kirk, most recently appearing in the TV miniseries, *Kirk*, last year.

“I’ve always just focused on entertaining people,” he told TopMob News. “I’ve never had another job – not even driving a taxi or waiting tables. I’ve never collected unemployment either. I was always driven to find work that would amuse others.”

Despite a remarkably successful career, Shatner doesn’t offer much guidance on how others can achieve the same-particularly when it comes to staying healthy and living a long life.

He playfully told *The Guardian* in 2021 that he didn’t have any special tricks. He believes his stamina comes from his genes. He enjoys riding horses and has a natural curiosity about the world, which he explores with an open mind.

While Shatner assured he’s in the clear, keep reading for more celebrity health scares…

She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, saying they would get the issue resolved eventually. Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in *12 Years a Slave*, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids – non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus – in 2014, the year she won an Oscar for her performance in the film.

She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, sharing on Instagram that she had privately struggled with it for over ten years.

She explained that many girls are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman. This often leaves them dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling isolated.

In July 2025, the actress from *Daisy Jones & The Six* revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she’d been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap to form in her abdominal muscles.

She messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “You haven’t tweeted in ages!” Then, jokingly, she added, “Have you ever thought maybe those super-tight pants I wore six months ago gave me a hernia, and I’ve just been too embarrassed to mention it?”

As someone who’s always focused on well-being, I found Adam Devine’s recent sharing really resonated with me. He revealed that injuries from a childhood accident – he was hit by a cement truck when he was just 11 – still cause him issues today. It’s a powerful reminder that things that happen early in life can have lasting effects, and prioritizing your health, both physical and mental, is so important.

“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the *In Depth With Graham Bensinger* podcast in 2025. “I experience spasms throughout my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation-I was told I might not have much time left.”

He mentioned that his pain is intermittent, explaining that his body has some minor imperfections and doesn’t always function as expected.

I was so worried to hear that one of our Bachelor Nation guys ended up in the hospital! Apparently, he had terrible back pain that got even worse on an RV trip with a friend, and he was actually crawling to get help. It sounded really scary!

He described a strange tingling sensation that still lingered in his knees and toes as of a March 2025 podcast episode of *Trading Secrets*. He explained that just a few weeks or a month prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he couldn’t even do a squat, couldn’t balance on one leg, and would fall over. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

She urged everyone to embrace their loved ones, reminding them that things can change unexpectedly in a moment.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its often harsh nature, because it ultimately helped her discover a health issue. After noticing comments about her “puffy” face during interviews, she was surprised when doctors began commenting, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome – a condition often linked to high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted her to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections for procedures like a breast reduction and C-section. She wouldn’t have known about the condition without the online attention. In a recent newsletter, Schumer expressed relief that her type of Cushing syndrome is self-correcting and that she is healthy, calling it the best news she could have received.

In December 2024, an AHL player was accidentally cut in the face by a skate during a game, requiring 25 stitches. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald told ESPN, “We feel very fortunate, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms, unable to speak and experiencing drooping on the right side of her face. Though these symptoms eventually passed, she went to the hospital for testing. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further investigation at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to reach her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on one side. He also shared that it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to eat.

Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on *Good Morning America* that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better, adding that they were grateful he was going to be okay after the frightening and unexpected health scare.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, *What Had Happened Was…*, he explained that he suffered a severe headache one day while in Atlanta. He asked for aspirin, but lost consciousness before he could take it, and doesn’t remember the next twenty days.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home. However, his sister, Deidra Dixon, worried about his condition and took him to the hospital, where doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.

After surgery, twenty days later on May 4th, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago to begin rehabilitation and therapy.

He expressed his gratitude for the support he received, saying, “I appreciate every prayer, because I needed every prayer.”

The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC competition show.

She shared on the show *Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser* that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, she remembered only darkness, followed by light, which led her to realize she had died that day.

She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in *Game of Thrones*, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for *The New Yorker*. While filming the show, she experienced a sudden and severe headache while at the gym. She described collapsing and becoming violently ill, realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.

A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair the aneurysm, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, leaving her unable to speak coherently.

After a week, her aphasia cleared up, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. However, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown, requiring a second surgery. This surgery was unsuccessful, leading to a massive bleed and a dire prognosis. Doctors had to perform a more invasive procedure, accessing her brain directly through her skull.

Fortunately, Emilia reports she has now made a full recovery and is at 100%.

Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other health issues. She explained that while she could have gone home after the stroke, she was also dealing with lupus and kidney problems.

Fortunately, Cori is now recovering well. “I’m doing great,” she said. “I just needed to regain some motor skills, but other than that, I’m fine.”

Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her 20s. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she revealed she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue – unable to walk for more than five minutes without needing to rest for hours – and persistent stomach pain. She faced confusion due to conflicting diagnoses from different doctors.

Shailene, who has chosen to keep the specifics of her condition private, embarked on a decade-long journey to find answers, combining traditional medical advice with holistic and herbal remedies.

The physical discomfort led to deeper issues, including fear of food and struggles with body image, identity, and feeling comfortable in her own body.

Ultimately, Shailene’s health improved, and she is now very healthy and happy to share that she has resolved the issues she faced.
