Okay, so I just heard that Windswept, this cool-looking side-scrolling platformer where you play with a buddy, is finally coming out on November 11th! It’s hitting pretty much every platform – PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC through Steam. Top Hat Studios is publishing it, and WeatherFell is the team behind it, so I’m pretty excited to check it out.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
Marbles and Checkers, a playful pair, have lost their way home after a big storm! Help them navigate a classic 90s-style platforming adventure, packed with things to do and tons of collectibles!
Celebrate the 1990s One More Time
Don’t be fooled by its cute charm! The journey home won’t be an easy one!
Windswept is a nostalgic tribute to classic gaming, specifically the era of collecting-focused platformers. It captures the feeling of repeatedly trying levels and relying solely on a game’s instruction manual for help.
The game features more than 40 levels, each packed with secret items to find, extra challenges to complete, and unusual obstacles – some you can conquer, and others that might just get the better of you!
Challenge Yourself to Experiment and Discover
You’ll learn every ability in the first stage of the game, after that you’re on your own!
Switching to a new leader unlocks a whole new way to play and a fresh set of abilities to learn. Don’t rush – you’ll get the hang of it with practice.
Getting home won’t be easy, and it will take practice, but even if it seems simple at first, there are still tricky challenges waiting for you!
Hone Your Skills
There’s no wrong way to play Windswept.
Marbles and Checkers both have special skills, but sometimes those won’t be enough to handle tricky situations. Feel free to combine different strategies and play however you like!
You may surprise yourself with what you’re capable of!
This is Your Story…
The journey home is a long one—live for the moments as they happen.
The End is Only the Beginning!
How far will you go?
Where will your journey end?
Let’s get swept away—together!
After that, they’re only a memory!
