The X-Men are joining forces with the Avengers to defend the multiverse in the upcoming movie, Avengers: Doomsday. However, the team will be missing a key member when they officially appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Although recent marketing materials show Professor X and Magneto working together in the fifth Avengers film, Halle Berry, who famously played Storm, won’t be returning. She wasn’t included in the cast announcement, and there have been no hints of her appearance in industry publications.
Berry herself has confirmed she won’t be in Doomsday. While speaking with Variety to promote her new film, Crime 101, she stated definitively, “Storm’s not there. I promise you. You all think I’m being coy and I’m being silly, but I’m not there.”
It’ll be disappointing if a key member of the X-Men doesn’t participate in the battle against Doctor Doom. However, Marvel Studios might have separate plans for Storm, giving her a chance to shine independently from the rest of the mutants.
MCU Movies That Are Natural Landing Spots for Halle Berry’s Storm
Avengers: Secret Wars

Even though Doomsday seems like everything is on the line, Marvel needs to save some surprises for Avengers: Secret Wars to make it truly epic. Storm might show up in the 2027 film to help, teaming up with other heroes and potentially changing the course of the battle.
Chris Hemsworth would be thrilled with that idea. Halle Berry’s co-star from Crime 101 shared with Cinemablend that he’s hoping to see Thor and Storm team up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
I’m not sure, but I imagine he’d say something like, ‘Hey, we’re alike! We both have an amazing ability to control the weather.’
Black Panther 3

Ryan Coogler has occasionally shared clues about the next Black Panther movie. Denzel Washington is set to appear, and considering Coogler’s knack for attracting great actors, it seems likely that Halle Berry will join the cast as well.
Bringing the character Storm to Wakanda in a film would be exciting, given their rich history together in the comics. They’ve even been romantically involved, and Storm once became queen, offering T’Challa much-needed support as king.
Now that the original Black Panther, T’Challa, is no longer with us, the upcoming Black Panther 3 could benefit from an appearance by a version of the character from another universe, especially one who teams up with a mutant. This idea gains traction considering the ongoing speculation that actor Damson Idris might take on the role of Black Panther in future films.
X-Men Movie Reboot

Another possibility for Storm’s return is the upcoming reboot of the X-Men, directed by Jake Schreier, who also directed Thunderbolts. Although the reboot seems likely to feature a new cast for characters like Cyclops, including at least one returning actor could make the change feel more seamless for fans.
Jubilee didn’t have a significant role in the X-Men films, and is mostly remembered for a poorly received joke. The Marvel Cinematic Universe could redeem this by casting Berry as a mentor to a new group of heroes.
In the comics, Storm has frequently led the X-Men, making her a natural fit as a powerful and influential figure among mutants.
