WNBA’s Cameron Brink Makes Return to L.A. Sparks After Tearing ACL

Cameron Brinkis on the brink of her comeback.

Over a year following an ACL tear sustained by the Los Angeles Sparks’ star during a June 2024 encounter with the Connecticut Sun, she made her second appearance of the season on July 29th, as she stepped back onto the court to face off against the Las Vegas Aces at Crypto.com Arena.

During the pre-game warm-ups, Cameron could be spotted, dressed in black athletic attire and purple sneakers, skillfully juggling the ball on the court prior to the start. Upon entering the game, her initial move was a successful rebound and assist to Rickea Jackson, followed by breaking her scoring dry spell with a well-aimed three-pointer.

Before she was due to arrive, the 23-year-old pondered over the emotions she’d experience upon returning after her season-ending injury during her debut WNBA season, an injury that also prevented her from participating in the 3×3 basketball event at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Cameron expressed that it feels incredibly significant to him, as he shared with the Long Beach Press Telegram on July 28. He was filled with excitement and deep gratitude for this opportunity. Coming back from such a challenge isn’t effortless, so he’s genuinely thrilled about it.

Additionally, she mentioned which aspect of her game she anticipates standing out more as she adjusts to competing in the WNBA once more.

She went on to say, “I’ve often found solace in my defensive skills. On offense, I try to give myself time and trust that success will follow. However, both aspects require improvement.

As she prepared to make her return to the court, Cameron’s support system was strong.

The basketball star shared that it feels fantastic to practice and gain experience,” he said to the media. “My teammates are incredibly encouraging, helping me improve my skills. The coaches are extremely understanding too. I’m doing well and receiving the necessary practice time to feel confident.

Despite currently feeling well, Cameron openly acknowledged that she found her 13-month hiatus from basketball challenging, as she was not particularly patient during this period.

She went on to say, “If you’re familiar with me, you’d know I’m not particularly patient. But this entire experience has been quite instructive for me.

Expressing gratitude for those close to her, she stated, “It’s really my support system who are making such a difference during this time. Without my community, I wouldn’t be able to get by.

In 2014, the actress who played a pivotal role in “12 Years a Slave” received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids, which are benign growths that can form within or near the uterus. Notably, this was also the year she was awarded an Oscar for her exceptional performance in that film.

Yet, she didn’t reveal her condition until the year 2025. On Instagram, she admitted that she had endured it secretly for over a decade.

She expressed that as we go through puberty, we’re often led to believe that periods bring pain, and this discomfort is just an inevitable aspect of being female. However, she pointed out that many women are dealing with this issue on their own, as it significantly impacts our lives.

In July 2025, one of the stars from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed that she was admitted to the hospital due to a hernia, which is typically a tear or weakness in the muscle wall located in the abdomen or groin region, brought on by wearing restrictive trousers.

She wrote on the platform that was once called Twitter, “‘You don’t post on Twitter anymore,'” she said. “Six months ago, I wore such tight pants they gave me a hernia, and I’ve been hesitant to mention it to you because I was afraid.

In an announcement made in April 2025, the former star of “Beverly Hills, 90210” shared that he was undergoing recovery following a near-burst appendix surgery.

He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

Adam Devine revealed that the injuries he suffered at age 11, following an accident involving a cement truck, continue to impact his health up until now.

In a 2025 episode of the “In Depth With Graham Bensinger” podcast, Devine expressed that it has been an extremely difficult time for him. He explained that he has been experiencing spasms throughout his body. For some time now, doctors have told him that he is close to death – literally, within the last year.

He observed that pain is intermittent, expressing, “There are quite a few areas in my body that seem to be out of alignment or functioning incorrectly.

Previously part of Bachelor Nation, this individual revealed that he had to visit the hospital while crawling on hands and knees because of severe back pain that worsened during a camping trip with a companion in an RV.

Currently, there’s a strange tingling sensation from the knees down, he shared in his Trading Secrets podcast episode from March 2025. In comparison, just a few weeks prior, or perhaps a month ago, he was squatting around 295 pounds comfortably. Now, he can barely perform even a single-leg squat without falling over – it’s as if he had experienced some kind of neurological issue.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

In March 2025, Gina Kirschenheiter from the Real Housewives of Orange County revealed that her former spouse, Matt Kirschenheiter, had experienced a heart attack. Fortunately, he made it through this challenging situation.

In March 2025, during a New York Knicks game, I, as a dedicated follower and star of the show “30 Rock”, experienced an unexpected health issue at Madison Square Garden, which required me to be carefully moved from the venue.

In February 2025, an actress from the show “Even Stevens” revealed that she had been accidentally shot in the face during a trip to fire clay pigeons for her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday celebration.

In a post on Instagram, she stated that there was another group with us, and they carelessly discharged their firearm in the wrong direction, striking me in the face. Without hesitation, @thebrendanrooney intervened, evaluated my condition, and transported me to the hospital. I sustained injuries in five locations; one of them was just inches away from directly hitting my right eye.

The actress from Kim Possible added, “Regrettably, a piece became stuck near my eye, and it’s not safe to take out through surgery right now. My doctors are keeping a close watch on me, as I can see fine for now.

In her own words, the actress expressed profound gratitude for simply being alive. She passionately declared her deep affection for her daughters, husband, family, and friends. Recounting a moment where she glimpsed her life’s journey in a flash, she urged everyone to cherish the people close to them, emphasizing that life can unexpectedly transform in the blink of an eye. Despite the occasional harshness of the internet, Amy Schumer is grateful it provided her with valuable insights. In a 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy, she recalled, “After a wave of press, I told everyone to calm down, but then doctors were commenting and suggesting something might be wrong.” The doctors speculated that she could have Cushing syndrome due to elevated cortisol levels or steroid injections. Amy, the creator of Life & Beth, realized, “I’ve been getting steroid injections for my scars.” She had received these injections after a breast reduction and a C-section. “So, it was the internet that essentially trolled me into discovering I had Cushing syndrome, which I wouldn’t have known otherwise,” Amy said. Now, she is relieved to know she’s healthy and will recover from this condition. As she shared in a 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Learning that my type of Cushing would resolve on its own and that I’m healthy was the best news possible.

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a harrowing ordeal while having breakfast with husband Justin Bieber when she started exhibiting symptoms similar to a stroke. As she recounted on YouTube a month later, Hailey began to feel uncertain and was unable to respond when Justin asked if she was alright. When she tried to speak, she found that she couldn’t, and her face began to droop on one side.

Hailey managed to regain her speech and mobility, but she decided to visit a hospital for a check-up. Doctors discovered a small blood clot in her brain, which they classified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Further examination at the University of California, Los Angeles revealed that Hailey had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). The blood clot had traveled through this hole and into her heart, then escaped and caused the TIA.

Hailey underwent a PFO closure procedure, which was successful, and she reported feeling well afterward.

In the same year Hailey went through a health crisis, Justin also encountered one. Specifically, in June 2022, the “Baby” singer revealed he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that led to temporary paralysis of parts of his face and compelled him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour. As he explained in an Instagram video, this illness targeted the nerve in his ear and facial nerves, resulting in facial paralysis. At the time, he couldn’t blink one eye, smile on half his face, or move one nostril. Essentially, one side of his face was completely paralyzed. He also mentioned it became increasingly difficult for him to eat. However, over time, the paralysis subsided. Hailey shared on a June 2022 episode of Good Morning America that Justin is doing well and recovering nicely. Although the situation was terrifying and unexpected, she’s relieved he’s now in good health.

Jamie Foxx initially chose to keep the details of his April 2023 hospitalization confidential, but later shared his experience in his 2024 Netflix special titled “What Had Happened Was…”. In Atlanta, he experienced a severe headache and requested an aspirin from a friend. Before he could take it, he passed out and lost consciousness for approximately 20 days.

Upon the advice of his doctor, who administered a cortisone shot and sent him home, Jamie’s sister Deidra Dixon took him to another hospital. There, they discovered that he had suffered a brain bleed which led to a stroke.

Twenty days after undergoing surgery, on May 4th, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair and was unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.

“I want to express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “because I truly needed each and every one of them.

Emilia Clarke filmed intense battle sequences for the TV series Game of Thrones, but in 2019, she penned an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” in The New Yorker. In her own words, she experienced a severe headache at the gym that led to vomiting profusely and worsening pain, which she realized was damage to her brain.

She was rushed to the hospital for a scan, where they discovered a life-threatening subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) caused by an aneurysm, or arterial rupture. Emilia underwent immediate surgery to repair the aneurysm, describing the pain as unbearable. During her recovery, she developed aphasia and spoke incoherently.

A week later, the aphasia subsided, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. However, a 2013 brain scan revealed that the growth had doubled in size, necessitating another surgery.

“When they woke me, I was screaming in pain,” Emilia wrote. “The procedure had failed. I had a massive bleed, and the doctors made it clear that my chances of survival were slim if they didn’t operate again. This time, they accessed my brain through my skull.”

Fortunately, Emilia is now completely recovered and well.

Due to additional health complications related to lupus, Cori’s hospital stay extended beyond her initial expectations. “I could have left the hospital after the stroke,” she further explained in the interview for ‘Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story’. “However, my lupus wasn’t doing well, and my kidneys were failing. There was a lot happening simultaneously.”

Currently, Cori is on the road to recovery. “I’m doing well,” she stated. “I just needed to regain some motor skills, but other than that, I was fine.
