So, MachineGames, the team behind the recent Wolfenstein games, hinted they had more story to tell, right? Well, according to Jez Corden over at Windows Central, it sounds like Wolfenstein 3 might actually be happening! It’s cool to hear that they haven’t finished with the series yet.
The likely reason for this is an upcoming Amazon TV show. Releasing a new main Wolfenstein game – especially one featuring B.J. Blazkowicz, the hero of previous titles (the last game focused on his daughters) – would be perfectly timed. This would also be a smart move, putting them ahead of Microsoft, who seemed caught off guard by the popularity of Fallout. However, it looks like remastered versions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas are also being developed.
There’s more exciting news: MachineGames is reportedly developing a multiplayer game similar to Rainbow Six Siege. This could involve characters with unique abilities, strategic gameplay, and modes where teams attack and defend objectives. It’s a competitive market, so it’s a risky move, but it’s good to see them experimenting with new ideas.
Blizzard fans might finally see the return of StarCraft this year at BlizzCon. Corden has hinted at a new third-person shooter game in the StarCraft universe. While an official announcement isn’t guaranteed, there’s still plenty to be excited about.
