Wolverine and Deadpool Bring Back the Most Iconic Part of X-Force (Exclusive)

The latest collaboration between Wolverine and Deadpool in the comics brings back a classic member of the X-Force team. In movies like “Deadpool & Wolverine” and comic series such as “Deadpool/Wolverine” and “Weapon X-Men”, these two characters have shared the screen, but their most notable partnership was in “Uncanny X-Force”, where they served as the X-Men’s covert operations team. The new Marvel comic adds a fresh twist to this pairing by bringing Wolverine and Deadpool’s daughters into the mix, making their upcoming mission a family operation. Marvel is revisiting their past by incorporating an exciting reference to Wolverine and Deadpool’s X-Force days.

Ready for a sneak peek? ComicBook offers an early glimpse at issue #2 of “Wolverines & Deadpools,” penned by Cody Ziglar, illustrated by Roge Antonio, colored by Guru-eFX, and lettered by VC’s Travis Lanham. Hitting shelves on August 6th! The first installment dropped this week, focusing on Logan, Laura Kinney, Wade Wilson, and Ellie Camacho as they probe the vanishing of mutant children in Symkaria. In this thrilling tale, our heroes divide their search: Laura and Ellie scour the town for leads, while Logan and Deadpool delve into the forest to track down the kidnappers.

In the comic book, Logan (Wolverine) and Wade (Deadpool) encounter Agent X, while Laura (X-23) and Ellie face Lady Bullseye. It seems these adversaries are being manipulated, as they appear under mind control. The story concludes with the ominous disclosure that the Shadow King is the mastermind orchestrating events from behind the scenes. Regarding the second issue of the Wolverines & Deadpools, a sneak peek showcases our four main characters donning the classic black-and-gray attire that Deadpool and Wolverine wore during their X-Force partnership.

On the second page, Shadow King is depicted as either extracting vital energy from a cluster of children or possibly attempting to control their mutant powers. Lady Bullseye and Agent X are seen kneeling on the ground, still under Shadow King’s control. The last page reveals Lady Bullseye assaulting Wade and Laura, while it seems likely that Agent X is poised to surprise Laura from behind.

Ziglar expressed that writing Wade and Ellie for the past 15 issues has been an extraordinary experience, like a long-awaited dream coming true. He added that wrapping up their storyline with such amazing mutants makes it even more delightful; he’s thrilled about delving into their father-daughter dynamics further – it’s something he eagerly anticipates exploring!
