It has been reported by Insider Gaming that Marvel’s Wolverine, the highly anticipated PS5 exclusive, will likely be featured in an upcoming State of Play livestream. According to their sources, the new trailer for the game is ready and it’s highly probable that it will be unveiled during a State of Play event scheduled towards the end of this month.
There’s been talk circulating about a possible livestream event called “State of Play” happening in September. Interestingly, this schedule aligns with Sony’s pattern for its digital shows – they’ve hosted either a State of Play or a PlayStation Showcase in September every year since 2019.
It’s clear that the State of Play centered around 007 First Light has only recently been broadcast, but there’s a strong expectation for another general presentation to follow within the upcoming weeks.
If a State of Play event occurs and Marvel’s Wolverine is featured in the show, it would mark the first public appearance of the PS5 title since its initial unveiling in 2021. While some sneak peeks of the gameplay have leaked online due to Insomniac’s hack in December 2023, these glimpses haven’t altered the developer’s overall direction for the game.
If the new Wolverine trailer isn’t included in a State of Play, there are indications that it might still be unveiled in the upcoming months. The Game Awards in December could also serve as another platform for its premiere.
Regarding potential additions to the rumored State of Play broadcast, the source hints at additional news about Marathon and the possible debut of a much-anticipated 2.5D God of War game.
