Would Harry Jowsey Join The Traitors? He Says…

Harry Jowsey, faithful or traitorous?

After becoming a fan of the reality show The Traitors, the former Too Hot to Handle contestant is excited about the possibility of competing on it himself.

Harry admitted to Erin Lim Rhodes that he hadn’t seen the show before, explaining he was delayed because he’d been finishing the final episode. He shared this at the Live From TopMob Stream: Spotify Best New Artist Party 2026 on January 29th.

The 28-year-old began to think about what part he would play if he were cast on the Peacock show.

He said he’d be happy to help if they wanted him, but wasn’t sure what he could offer. He joked that he might be good at deception, even a ‘really good Traitor,’ but admitted he’s a bad liar because it shows on his face when he’s being dishonest.

When Erin confidently told Harry he’d be a much better ‘Faithful’ contestant, Harry agreed, jokingly saying, “Alright, done. Everyone, I’m faithful! You can ask my ex.”

Although Harry Potter actor Tom Hughes is excited to join the show The Traitors, one of the contestants already competing needed some persuading to participate.

Rob Rausch, a contestant on the show’s fourth season, recently explained to TopMob News that he initially turned down the opportunity twice. He wasn’t eager to be on television again, but his passion for games and competition ultimately convinced him to join the show.

In the end, the Love Island USA star decided to participate because he’s a big fan of the long-running TV competition.

I’m not usually one for reality TV, but I’ve always been hooked on Survivor. When I started watching this show, it immediately felt like it had a similar energy, and I just had a feeling it would be a really good time.

In the end, the Love Island USA contestant decided to participate because he’s a big fan of the long-running TV competition.

He said he only watches one reality TV show, Survivor, and thought this new show felt similar. He decided to give it a try, thinking, ‘This could be really enjoyable.’

It was also the perfect opportunity to see more of the world.

Rob admitted he’d never visited Scotland, and on a whim, decided to go explore a castle and see what adventures awaited.

Deception is a key part of the game in The Traitors, but players are randomly assigned as either Traitors or Faithful. However, beginning with season two, contestants like Phaedra Parks and Kate Chastain had the opportunity to try and convince host Alan Cumming of their innocence.

The selection process for who plays the Traitor is really important, and Alan’s thoughts definitely influence it,” explained executive producer Mike Cotton in an interview with Variety. “It’s similar to a job interview – we carefully consider everyone and make a final decision right before the pick. We aim for a diverse and compelling group of players, each with something unique to bring to the game.”

The players didn’t initially know how many Traitors were among them. Cirie Fields, a winner on Survivor, explained to TopMob News in 2023 that they were told at the start of the game there could be between three and five Traitors.

Players were also asked to take the Traitor’s oath, which involved promising to lie and deceive others throughout the game, being willing to eliminate fellow players each night, and keeping both their own and other players’ identities secret.

To get a sense of who might be good at deceiving others, the show uses a personality test to evaluate the contestants. As Cotton Variety explained, this helps identify traits associated with lying and deception. However, the producers don’t actually know who the ‘Traitors’ are until the moment Alan Carr secretly selects them.

Alan Cumming was thrilled to take on the over-the-top role and even bring his dog to work. He told The Daily Beast in 2023 that when he first heard the pitch, he envisioned playing a character similar to a James Bond villain—and that he wanted to include his dog as a playful accessory. The producers loved the idea, and that convinced him to sign on.

With his rescue dog, Lala, by his side, he fully embraced his on-screen role, peppering his delivery with quotes from playwright William Shakespeare and philosopher Plato. He described his performance as intense, explaining, “I was really playing a character, almost making things up as I went.” He even revealed that sometimes lines were fed to him through an earpiece, making the experience similar to improvisational stand-up comedy.

I’ve learned that while the cast films at the stunning Ardross Castle in Scotland, it’s not like they’re actually living there! It’s a beautiful location for work, but they don’t get to move into their own palace wings, unfortunately.

Cumming told The Daily Beast that none of the cast and crew stayed at the castle itself. Instead, they stayed at the hotel near the Inverness airport. He explained that he had a room in the castle, which he used for getting ready, but didn’t spend the night there. He mentioned the room had a large bed and he often napped there during the day.

The show almost filmed a much more dangerous challenge. Creator Marc Pos told Variety his original idea involved filming on a ship off the coast of Australia, where losing contestants would have to swim to an island. However, he realized it would be too complicated and expensive to actually film.

Contestants weren’t allowed access to the entire castle. According to Cotton, who spoke with Variety, they’re using just one section. “We’ve designated a wing of the castle as their playing area, and they also have access to the outdoor grounds. They’re free to move around within those spaces,” Cotton explained.

He pointed out that with room for around thirty bedrooms, complete privacy would be difficult. While people could spread out and talk separately, the space was still small enough that conversations could be overheard or someone could be seen slipping away for a private discussion.

It makes sense that Rachel Reilly, known from Big Brother, found car rides to and from challenges to be the best opportunity to strategize with other players. She told Reality Blurred that “You’re separated, and nobody can hear what you’re saying,” which was much easier than trying to whisper in the castle.

Players weren’t allowed to discuss strategy at the hotel. According to Dan Gheesling, a contestant from season two, this was because anything said off-camera couldn’t be used in the show if it revealed important information. He explained this to Business Insider, stating that the show needed everything important to be captured on camera.

Chrishell Stause, from season three of the show, also shared that they weren’t provided with a hair and makeup team. She told Us Weekly that while she would have loved to have professional glam services at the castle, Alan didn’t permit it.

Getting everyone settled for the nightly murders is a huge undertaking, like a military operation,” Cotton explained to Variety. “They have to get the ‘Faithful’ into separate rooms each night and then let the ‘Traitors’ out for their meetings.”

Even though Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan were a couple during season two of the show, they weren’t permitted to share a room. According to executive producer Sam Rees-Jones, producers felt allowing them to do so would have given them an unfair advantage.

Reza Farahan from Shahs of Sunset tried to add some playful mischief during filming. He told Digital Spy that he’d sneak notes under contestants’ doors, jokingly hinting at their past actions. He’d sign them, ‘The Traitors,’ just to have a little fun when they weren’t supposed to.

As a huge fan, I’ve been fascinated to learn how quickly they film each episode! It sounds incredibly intense – they aim for one a day, which is a massive feat. But apparently, that’s intentional! The fast pace helps the cast stay completely focused and immersed in the story. They really build this bubble around them. They start early with breakfast, discuss the day’s plan, tackle a mission, solve a murder, and then do it all over again! Chrishell even mentioned one night they didn’t get back to their rooms until 2 a.m. – talk about dedication!

According to Cotton, who spoke with Variety, the breakfasts are carefully scheduled with guests arriving at different times. However, the meals themselves don’t last very long – usually no more than an hour.

14. Perhaps that’s why producers take strides to keep contestants sharp. “You can only drink one drink a night,” Love Island winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu, a season two Faithful, told Entertainment Weekly in 2024, “it was quite restricted.”

Even though it’s often difficult to find genuine support from other players, everyone on the show is paired with a dedicated member of the welfare team. According to Mercedes Javid, a popular contestant from last season, these team members provide constant support. She described them as upbeat and professional, making her feel well-cared for throughout the experience.

When it comes to building relationships on the show, contestants don’t find out who their competition will be until they arrive in Scotland. Casting director Deena Katz told Time that the goal is to prevent players from researching each other or making pre-game alliances. However, once the competition begins, players are given information about each other and a journal to keep notes.

Cumming jokingly refers to himself as a “Traitor,” explaining that in a game he imagines, accusations would be arbitrary. He told The Daily Beast in 2023 that people would quickly turn on each other, labeling anyone a traitor for even minor reasons – like a simple pat on the shoulder. He suggests the label would be applied without genuine justification, simply because he decided it so.
