It’s intriguing to ponder over the decision of creating a movie adaptation for Wuthering Heights, considering the skepticism surrounding the commercial viability of a film based on such an esteemed novel. However, this production is led by Emerald Fennell, whose past works Promising Young Woman and Saltburn were unique masterpieces, and both received high praise. With her original screenplay and Charlie XCX’s score, it appears that this adaptation will certainly be unlike any other.
An impassioned and stormy love tale unfolds amidst the picturesque landscapes of Yorkshire’s moors, delving into the complex and devastating bond shared by Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw.

The movie features award-nominated actress Margot Robbie along with Jacob Elordi, who’s also been nominated for awards. Joining them are other acclaimed talents like Oscar nominee Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, BAFTA winner Martin Clunes, and Ewan Mitchell.
The project sparked intense competition among various movie production companies before it went into production, as numerous studios vied to claim the movie. In the end, Warner Brothers emerged victorious, in part due to their decision to release the film in cinemas. Margot Robbie, who had produced Phennell’s first two films, will now play the lead role.
Wuthering Heights is in cinemas 13th February 2026
