Wuthering Heights – TRAILER

A new version of a classic novel…

It’s reasonable to question whether a film adaptation of Wuthering Heights is a good idea, given the challenges of bringing such a beloved classic to the screen. However, this version is directed by Emerald Fennell, who previously made the critically acclaimed and distinct films Promising Young Woman and Saltburn. She’s also written the screenplay and collaborated with Charlie XCX on the score, suggesting this adaptation will be uniquely its own – as hinted at in the trailer.

What is the Wuthering Heights story?

This is a dramatic love story unfolding on the wild Yorkshire moors. It follows the powerful, yet ultimately ruinous, connection between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw.

Who is in it?

Margot Robbie, nominated for an Academy Award and a BAFTA, leads the cast alongside Jacob Elordi, also a BAFTA nominee. The film features Hong Chau, an Oscar nominee, as well as Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, BAFTA winner Martin Clunes, and Ewan Mitchell.

Who is behind the camera?

Emerald Fennell collaborated with a highly acclaimed team for the project, including Linus Sandgren (cinematography), Suzie Davies (production design), Victoria Boydell (editing), Kharmel Cochrane (casting), and Anthony Willis (music)—all of whom have received Oscar or BAFTA nominations or wins. The costumes were designed by Jacqueline Durran, an Oscar and BAFTA winner.

And here are some fun facts…..

Before the movie was even made, several studios fiercely competed to produce it. Warner Brothers ultimately secured the project, largely because they promised a traditional cinema release. Margot Robbie, who previously produced the director’s earlier films, now stars in the leading role.

Wuthering Heights is in cinemas 13th February 2026
