It seems that 2K might be aiming for a home run with WWE 2K25, based on the latest hint they’ve dropped.
In a short clip posted to X, it’s fairly clear what the focus is.
Bray Wyatt is coming to The Island.
The game WWE 2K25 offers Island mode only on Xbox Series X, Series S, and PS5 consoles. If you play on PC or last-gen consoles, you won’t have access to this feature. While typically I might say it’s not a big deal to miss out, in this case, things could be different.
Information from a trusted wrestling news source, Fightful Select, suggests some additional insights from industry insiders.
A person I talked to believes this could be one of the initial 2K storylines that will touch people’s emotions. They added that there are plenty of unused Bray Wyatt materials that will be included.
Following the discovery of potential Bray Wyatt files within the game code by data miners, it appears their findings were indeed correct. According to Fightful, the associated storyline is expected to drop soon, a prediction supported by the teaser from 2K that we’ve seen as well.
The tale is additionally said to be “rich,” showcasing clips involving the present members of Wyatt Sicks, namely Uncle Howdy and Bo Dallas.
Just as current stories on The Island offer incentives upon completion, so too will future ones come with their own unique prizes without a shadow of a doubt.
The news of Bray Wyatt’s departure resonated deeply throughout the entire wrestling world, and it’s safe to say that it might tug at some emotional heartstrings.
Why can’t you play The Island on PC or Xbox One/PS4?

In the design of WWE 2K25, such content can only be incorporated within The Island. This idea intrigues me, yet it also has its drawbacks.
The game can’t be played on PC or last-gen consoles because, during an interview prior to its release, developers mentioned two main reasons. The first reason was security concerns, specifically about hackers. Due to the setup of the in-game currency within The Island, it wouldn’t take much time before cheaters would join and spoil the gaming experience for others by exploiting this system.
In simpler terms, we’re focusing on the gameplay aspect, particularly for those who might be playing on less powerful systems, given that The Island is a type of open world where you and other actual players coexist in a common virtual environment.
I understand their perspective on both points, and it’s clear that there have been significant issues with both situations.
The performance of The Island game on Xbox Series X leaves room for improvement, whether intentionally or unintentionally. While the in-ring action maintains a smooth 60 FPS, moving around The Island often appears to be running at lower frames per second.
In this game, the system for obtaining currency is disorganized, just like many others. To enhance your character’s abilities, you are required to use Virtual Currency (VC), and, unsurprisingly, purchasing it is the most straightforward method to acquire it. The Island, as you might have suspected, leans heavily towards a pay-to-win structure. However, if you’re willing to put in a considerable amount of effort, or grind extensively, there are alternative ways to progress.
While the fundamental concept might not be bad, the overall tale in The Island could use some improvement. However, it does provide 2K with a platform for consistently delivering engaging storylines alongside multiplayer gameplay – a common approach in today’s ‘game as a service’ model.
The current version requires improvement to persist past this year’s game, but it’s primarily disappointing because the players who won’t get to experience the new Bray Wyatt content might miss out, especially if the rumors are accurate.
