WWE 2K25 on Nintendo Switch 2 Lacks Cross-Platform Community Creations, Image Uploader Support

Following the launch of WWE 2K25 on Nintendo Switch 2, developers 2K have made it known that this particular port does not support the uploading or viewing of user-created custom images. This means that the Switch 2 version lags significantly behind other versions when it comes to community contributions such as custom wrestlers and arenas. Moreover, the Switch 2 edition doesn’t include cross-platform creation options.

In a Q&A about the game, 2K stated that if you’re using Nintendo Switch 2, you won’t be capable of uploading or viewing custom images shared across different platforms. To clarify further, they added that users on Nintendo Switch 2 will not have access to Community Creations featuring Image Uploaders from any platform, nor will they be able to upload their own creations.

In essence, homemade wrestlers crafted solely within the game’s built-in tools can be shared freely. However, those that were designed on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, or utilizing the Image Uploader tool provided by 2K for texture creation won’t be accessible in the community. It’s worth noting that the custom wrestlers made using the Image Uploader tool are often the most detailed and highly sought after within the community.

Supporters of the WWE 2K series on social platforms are expressing dissatisfaction over this recent announcement, as one user pointed out that the Nintendo Switch edition of WWE 2K18 functioned perfectly well with this specific feature.

This gamer turned to Nintendo’s customer service to request a refund,” posted one Reddit user. “They already owned the game for PS5, but bought it again for a portable version featuring customizable universes.” They later confirmed that Nintendo granted the refund and that the process wasn’t lengthy.

Some players are pondering if the omission of Image Uploader functionality in the Switch 2 edition of WWE 2K25 might be due to limitations imposed by Nintendo. A player expressed their displeasure with this choice, expressing a hope that Nintendo would have faith in console users and utilize the parental control tools instead of restricting such content.

It seems custom images are not allowed according to Nintendo’s rules. I can’t help but wonder who exactly Nintendo is targeting with these restrictions. It feels as though they’re treating us like YouTube, yet we have parental controls for a reason. Why restrict the fun of grown adults under the guise of protecting children? After all, we aren’t their parents. The parents are.

Earlier this month, news about the updated version of “WWE 2K25,” specifically the Switch 2 edition, was made public. Alongside this announcement, a fresh trailer was unveiled showcasing popular WWE personalities such as LA Knight, Finn Balor, and Raquel Rodriguez. Additionally, the trailer offered a glimpse into the game’s wrestling mechanics.

Pre-purchasing the Switch 2 launch would have granted players the Wyatt Sicks pack. Nevertheless, individuals who chose not to pre-order can still acquire the DLC pack by buying either the Deadman Edition or the Bloodline Edition of WWE 2K25.
