New 2K Showcase Focuses on CM Punk
In WWE 2K26, you can relive and rewrite the career of CM Punk in 2K Showcase. Featuring narration by CM Punk himself, you’ll experience his most iconic matches and explore alternate scenarios. You’ll start with his recent WrestleMania 41 Triple Threat match against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, then journey back through his career to battles like Punk vs. Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood 2024, his clash with The Rock in the 2013 Elimination Chamber, or his rivalry with Randy Orton at WrestleMania 27. The Island is Revamped
The popular story mode is back in WWE 2K26, and it’s been completely rebuilt to be more engaging and satisfying. Last year’s version felt repetitive, but this year’s version, set around a battle between three rival groups, offers a much better experience. It features more team-based matches and exclusive content, making it a more worthwhile way to play. Plus, for the first time ever, you can play on PC!
Gameplay Refinement Comes to Key Areas
It’s common for yearly sports games to have small improvements, but 2K26 offers significant enhancements thanks to a lot of changes in how the game plays.
The game now features a redesigned reversal system tied to an athlete’s stamina, forcing players to think strategically about when to use it, as each reversal takes energy. Players can also activate pyrotechnics and custom taunts with their controller, enhancing their entrance. Before matches, you’ll see more storytelling elements like surprise attacks, handshakes (genuine or deceptive), cheering, and intense stare-downs, all designed to build rivalries. Plus, you can now battle and perform moves on top of the barricade around the ring.
Tweaks to Game Modes
WWE 2K26 is updating its game modes with some exciting changes. MyGM now includes intergender wrestling and lets you create matches with up to eight wrestlers, plus you’ll have more shows to manage throughout the year. MyRISE is bringing back a popular feature from WWE 2K19 – you can keep playing even after finishing the story. MyFACTION, like MyGM, now supports intergender matches and introduces a new ‘Quick Swap’ feature for fast-paced tag team action and strategic decisions. Building your dream team in MyFACTION is also more rewarding thanks to improved team chemistry, the ability to call in support during matches, and new community challenges.
Expansions to Creation Suite
The character creation tools in WWE 2K26 have been significantly improved. You now have more space for created images, can finely tune bodies and faces, blend hair colours, and save up to two hundred creations. The game also features enhanced physics and more realistic athlete models. This level of detail and personalization is possible because the developers were no longer limited by older gaming systems.
New Commentary Team Leads Presentation Refresh
WWE 2K26 is significantly upgrading its commentary team with Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Booker T, Wade Barrett, and Byron Saxton. This is the biggest commentary update the game has seen in years, promising a more immersive and exciting match experience, especially when combined with the new pre-match options and pyrotechnics controls. The game’s presentation is also getting a boost with improved cameras and visual effects, including enhanced lighting, to make matches feel more like a real WWE broadcast.
New Match Types
This year introduces several exciting new match types. “I Quit” is a submission match where the goal is to force your opponent to surrender, rather than pin them. “Dumpster Matches” are similar to casket matches – you win by throwing your opponent into a dumpster and closing the lid. “Three Stages of Hell” is a best-of-three falls match played across stages chosen by fans. And on the Island, you can compete in a “Scrapyard Brawl” – a fight that takes place inside a scaffolding-filled arena.
Overhauled Weapon Physics
WWE 2K26 is fixing a common fan issue with a complete rework of how weapons work in the game. Expect more realistic hits and damage, thanks to improved collision detection and new models. Wrestlers will also react more believably to weapon attacks – a chair shot will now look and feel like a real chair shot.
Okay, so the new update is seriously cool! They added these things called thumbsticks – they’re basically super powerful weapons that can really mess up your opponents. And get this, you can now use shopping carts! Imagine grabbing someone, stuffing them in, and then just wheeling them around! It doesn’t stop there though, you can now stack tables on top of each other too, which opens up a ton of new strategies. I can’t wait to try it all out!
AI Behaviour Receives an Upgrade
The latest AI improvements come in the form of AI Sequences. These let you create specific move combinations that AI-controlled wrestlers will try to execute during matches, all built using the Create-A-Moveset system. This means the AI will think through its attacks, making matches feel more strategic and intentional. Plus, AI opponents now react and animate more realistically, just like we described before, making the experience more believable and immersive.
A Premium Battle Pass System Replaces DLC
In WWE 2K26, Ringside Passes give you extra rewards for playing all the game modes, helping you earn experience points (XP). Each pass has 120 rewards split between free and premium tiers – 60 rewards in each. The Premium Ringside Pass replaces the old downloadable content (DLC) system. This means you’ll unlock popular current and legendary wrestlers – who aren’t included in the base game – by playing and progressing through the Premium Ringside Passes, instead of buying them separately like in previous games.
Release Date, Platforms, and Price
WWE 2K26 will be available globally on March 13th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. There are also three special editions available, and if you pre-order one of them, you’ll be able to start playing on March 6th. The standard version of the game costs £69.99 / $69.99 on all platforms, but it’s currently on sale for £59.99 on Steam in the UK.
WWE 2K 26 Universe
WWE 2K26’s Universe Mode now starts with an easy setup wizard. You can quickly choose which weekly shows to feature, assign wrestlers to those shows and determine who holds the championships, and even pick when your season begins. Each show can have up to eight championships and two Money in the Bank briefcases. The WWE Draft is fully customizable – you can schedule it, brand it, change the rules, and move wrestlers between shows over multiple rounds. Cashing in Money in the Bank is also more versatile, letting you use it on any eligible championship either during or after a match. This is supported by improved promo packages, more control over match difficulty, and tools to quickly manage and reset everything.
Pre-Order Bonuses
If you pre-order any version of the game, you’ll receive the Joe Hendry Pack. This pack lets you play as the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, complete with his unique shirt, an Evo card for MyFACTION mode, and an exclusive Spin Island emote.
PC Requirements
To run WWE 2K26 well, you’ll need at least an Intel i7 or Ryzen 5 1500x processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 graphics card. For the best experience, the game recommends an i7-7700 or Ryzen 5 2600 processor, and an RTX 3060 or RX 6700XT graphics card. You’ll also need 16GB of RAM and 120GB of free storage space. Make sure your graphics card has at least 6GB of video memory.
