WWE has been full of surprises lately, with familiar faces reappearing during John Cena’s farewell matches and some NXT stars getting promoted to the main roster. But the biggest shock came tonight when a popular champion was shockingly betrayed, costing them their title.
The main event of tonight’s WWE NXT featured the NXT Women’s Championship. Tatum Paxley, a popular wrestler, originally won the title in a career-defining victory over Jacy Jayne. Jayne earned a rematch, but despite attempts by Fatal Influence to interfere, Paxley seemed poised to win. However, a shocking turn of events occurred when Paxley’s allies from The Culling unexpectedly betrayed her, knocking her out and costing her the championship, much to the disappointment of the audience.
Jayne executed her finishing move on Paxley, seemingly securing the win, but Paxley surprisingly kicked out just in time. Despite Fatal Influence trying to use the Championship belt as a weapon, Paxley held on. A frustrated Jayne then kicked Paxley out of the ring, and luckily, Paxley landed on her team’s side. However, the situation quickly changed.
As Paxley tried to re-enter the ring, Shawn Spears and Niko Vance stepped in her path, preventing her from getting back in. Spears smirked as Izzi Dame delivered a powerful kick to Paxley’s head. They then pushed Paxley into the ring, shocking Jayne, who quickly capitalized. Jayne hit her finishing move again and secured the pin, reclaiming the NXT Women’s Championship.
Jayne has achieved a significant milestone, becoming only the fourth woman to win the NXT Women’s Championship twice. The other three – Roxanne Perez, Shayna Baszler, and Charlotte Flair – have all had impressive championship runs. Shayna Baszler holds the record for the longest combined reign among them, having held the title for a total of 548 days.
Man, that betrayal really cut Paxley’s run short – just 23 days as champion! It’s a shame. Now I’m really curious to see what happens with her next. Will she go after The Culling for what they did? Or is this all setting her up for a move to Raw or SmackDown? I’m hoping for a big storyline either way!

It’s funny how The Culling has united behind Paxley, but now that they’ve gained attention and are a known group, Paxley could potentially move to Raw or SmackDown. He could succeed as a solo performer or even team up with Lyra Valkyria as a tag team.
Now that Jayne has won the NXT Women’s Championship again, it looks like any plans for her to move to the main WWE roster will have to wait.
