As an old-school WWE fan who’s seen it all, from the Attitude Era to the Ruthless Aggression period, I must say that Bad Blood 2024 has been quite the rollercoaster ride! The introduction of the Crown Jewel Championship adds a new level of prestige to the already stacked WWE roster. The match-ups promised for Crown Jewel are intriguing, and I can’t wait to see who will emerge as the best of the best.
During WWE’s Bad Blood event, Triple H stepped into the ring midway through to make several announcements before departing. Among these revelations was the introduction of Champion vs Champion matches for both men and women, resulting in the creation of a new title, the Crown Jewel Championship, for the victors of these contests. However, what stood out most was when Gunther emerged, engaging in a heated verbal exchange with Goldberg. This altercation required intervention and strongly hinted at a potential match between the two happening sooner rather than later.

Initially, Triple H unveiled two high-profile encounters scheduled for Crown Jewel, which will feature Champion versus Champion bouts for both male and female competitors. Unlike regular matches where titles are at stake, these contests won’t decide the champions directly, but Triple H assured there would be a clear victor. The stakes are significant, as there will be a unique prize up for grabs in addition to the standard championship title.

When Gunther emerged, he’s currently the World Heavyweight Champion. He teased his upcoming fight against Sami Zayn on next week’s Raw. However, just before stepping into the ring, the WWE team had pointed out that Goldberg was in attendance, playing his theme song “Gage.” Gunther acknowledged this and had some words for the WWE veteran.
Goldberg’s actions were instigated when he got up and crossed the barrier, leading to officials intervening to prevent a fight. Continually provoking Goldberg, Gunther eventually found himself escorted out of the venue. However, Triple H remained by Goldberg’s side as the audience showered him with applause. It appears that a potential match between Gunther and Goldberg is on the cards, although it may not take place at Crown Jewel if Gunther retains his title until then. But there’s a strong possibility that this encounter could transpire at some other point in time.
