WWE Raw’s Big Twist Is Reportedly Due to Major Injury (But Could Set Up An Even Bigger Reunion)

Following the exciting Crown Jewel event in Perth, Australia, Monday Night Raw seemed poised to establish Seth Rollins as the show’s top star after his victory over Cody Rhodes. However, the episode took an unexpected turn that dramatically changed the power dynamics of Raw. The shift may be due to a significant injury, potentially leading WWE to alter its plans and even reunite some familiar faces in a new storyline.

On Monday’s Raw, newly crowned champion Seth Rollins was attacked by Bron Breakker, quickly followed by Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman. According to PWInsider, this unexpected turn of events happened because Rollins was actually injured, and the extent of his injury and recovery time are currently unknown. If Rollins recovers quickly, it could lead to a potential reunion of the popular wrestling group, The Shield, with Rollins possibly approaching Roman Reigns to reform the team.

Seth Rollins Appears to be Legitimately Injured This Time

Seth Rollins recently returned from a significant injury, unexpectedly appearing healthy enough to interfere with CM Punk’s championship match and ultimately cost him the World Heavyweight Championship. Now, Rollins is reportedly injured again, but the circumstances surrounding this injury seem different than before.

Seth Rollins reportedly injured his left shoulder while performing the Coast to Coast maneuver at the Crown Jewel event, according to PWInsider.

When Rollins was injured previously, WWE heavily featured the incident on television and continued to discuss it during commentary. He really emphasized the pain by visibly using crutches to leave the ring. This latest injury is a bit different – it happened during his coast-to-coast dive against Rhodes when he landed directly on his shoulder.

The incident didn’t seem serious on TV, and while footage shows officials checked on Rollins after he went backstage, that wasn’t broadcast. After the show, Rollins needed help backstage and was later seen wearing a sling in a photo taken with a fan outside the arena, suggesting he was injured.

A photo from yesterday shows Seth Rollins with his arm in a sling. It seems he’s injured and will be taking a break from the current storyline for a while. We wish him a quick recovery! His injury has already impacted the plot, as Bron turned against him.

If the injury is real, Bron Breakker turning on his team is a great way to continue The Vision’s storyline while Seth Rollins takes a break from television to get a clear diagnosis.

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns Could Be Teaming Up Once Again

Although injuries are never good, there’s a potential benefit in this situation. If Rollins is sidelined for a long period, he’ll probably have to give up his World Heavyweight Championship, which would put him in a similar position to Roman Reigns.

Roman Reigns has been distancing himself from Jey and Jimmy Uso, particularly after the events at *Crown Jewel*. While he still cares about his cousins, he’s trying to separate family from his work, essentially isolating himself. Seth Rollins is in a similar situation, now estranged from his own group, and finding himself cut off from those who used to support him. This shared isolation could surprisingly lead Rollins and Reigns to join forces.

A key similarity between Breakker and Rollins is their shared dislike of Paul Heyman. Heyman recently sided with Breakker and Reed, putting him against Rollins. However, Heyman has a history of switching allegiances – he previously betrayed both Reigns and CM Punk to align with Rollins – and he’s been hinting at what might cause him to leave Rollins’ side.

With both Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes potentially wanting Paul Heyman back, a temporary reunion of The Shield – Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins – is possible. However, it’s a big question whether Reigns would be willing to team up with Rollins, the person who previously caused The Shield to split and who also aided Cody Rhodes in defeating him and winning the championship. It’s an intriguing idea, and considering their past, it could actually happen. Though a full Shield reunion isn’t possible since Dean Ambrose (now Jon Moxley) isn’t returning, getting two of the three members back together would still be significant.
