WWE Superstars Reveal New Intergender Match Feature in WWE 2K25 Gameplay Preview

On YouTube’s gaming channel owned by WWE, UpUpDownDown, fans got an exclusive sneak peek at the new intergender matches and Showcase Mode in WWE 2K25. This special presentation was led by WWE Superstars Austin Creed (also known as Xavier Woods), Kofi Kingston (members of The New Day tag-team), Tyler Breeze, and Dominik Mysterio.

Initially, we delve into the first portion of this gameplay sneak peek, revealing insights on WWE 2K25’s Showcase Mode and an innovative feature allowing players to manage the camera during a wrestler’s grand entrance, enhancing dramatic flair. For those less familiar, Showcase Mode is a solo, arcade-style experience where players reenact WWE’s most legendary moments, encounter unique situations never before seen, or live out dream matches that didn’t take place in reality.

In contrast to WWE 2K24’s Showcase mode which focused on recreating matches from every Wrestlemania event, WWE 2K25’s Showcase mode is themed around revisiting iconic matches that feature the Anoa’i dynasty. The Anoa’i dynasty is an extensive family lineage that has given rise to some of the most legendary wrestlers in WWE history, including The Rock, The Wild Samoans, Roman Reigns, Yokozuna, Rikishi, Umaga, Nia Jax, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and Jacob Fatu, to name but a few.

In this preview of the gameplay featuring Kofi Kingston as The Wild Samoans versus The Dudley Boyz, it’s evident that progress in Showcase Mode isn’t a straightforward matter of pinning opponents or forcing them to yield. Instead, you must accomplish various objectives throughout each match to secure victory. These tasks may involve inflicting damage, taunting your adversary, using specific moves, shattering tables and more.

In some games, certain goals must be achieved (mandatory objectives), while others are not necessary (optional objectives). However, if you successfully finish every objective during a game, you’ll uncover hidden aspects such as secret characters that can be played.

Subsequently, WWE Superstars examine WWE 2K25’s latest Intergender Match option. Among the numerous innovative gameplay features in WWE 2K25, one stands out – the capacity to arrange intergender matches involving both male and female wrestlers, a feature that can be utilized across all match types.

WWE Superstars exhibit this uniquely by introducing an Intergender Royal Rumble, a type of contest featuring 30 combatants who intermittently join the arena and knock each other out over the ring rope until a single victor remains. With this new Intergender format, you’ll have the opportunity to concoct wild fantasy bouts such as Rhea Ripley versus The Undertaker in a Casket Match or recreating the chaotic incident from the 2019 Royal Rumble when Nia Jax invaded the Men’s Royal Rumble match.

WWE 2K25 is shaping up to be one of the best titles in the WWE 2K series

At the beginning of 2025, I never thought I’d become a WWE fan once more, let alone look forward to WWE 2K25. This game intends to elevate the WWE 2K series with the largest collection of WWE Superstars ever, boasting over 300 playable characters. It offers expanded game modes, introduces intergender matches, a next-gen exclusive “Island Mode”, new match types, and much more.

2025’s WWE 2K25 has moved swiftly into my top games I’m eagerly looking forward to, and I can hardly contain my excitement to enter the wrestling arena as Rhea Ripley to give The Rock a good beating when this game, slated for release on March 14, 2025, becomes available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
