Becky Lynch, a major star in WWE, has expanded her career into film and television with appearances in shows like Happy Gilmore 2 and Billions. Her latest role takes her to the future as she joins the Star Trek universe. Rebecca Quin, known professionally as Becky Lynch, recently shared a first look at her character and her introduction to the iconic science fiction franchise.
Cindy Lynch is joining the cast of the new Star Trek: Starfleet Academy series, which is set after the events of Star Trek: Discovery. While she hasn’t revealed who she’ll be playing, we’ve gotten a first glimpse of her character – a Starfleet officer in Operations Gold, working on the bridge crew. Former wrestler Lynch announced on X (formerly Twitter) that she’s joined the cast of the new Star Trek series, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, which premieres on Paramount+ in January. She playfully corrected a report from Collider, stating she isn’t just one of WWE’s biggest stars, but the biggest, and shared a photo of herself from the show.

Actor Lynch recently shared his experience working on the set of the popular Star Trek franchise. In an interview with Collider, he described being on the bridge of the ship as being on “one of the most amazing sets I’ve ever been on.”
Lynch shared that she grew up with Star Trek always present in her life. In Ireland, where she was raised, there were only a few TV channels, and Star Trek was consistently broadcast. While she didn’t always actively watch the series, she enjoyed the movies and was a big fan of Colm Meaney, saying everyone would gather to watch whenever he appeared on screen.
Viewers will first see Lynch join the Star Trek universe when the show launches on Paramount+ on January 15, 2026. However, she has a lot on her plate before then, as she continues to be very busy with her commitments to WWE.
Becky Lynch will compete in the Women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series this weekend, teaming with Nia Jax, Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Lash Legend. Their opponents will be AJ Lee, Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Alexa Bliss, and Charlotte Flair in what’s expected to be a major highlight of the event. Beyond WarGames, Lynch is predicted to continue her rivalry with AJ Lee, potentially leading to matches at both the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy debuts on January 15, 2026.
