As a diehard movie buff, I can’t help but notice the shifting landscape in WWE over the next decade, with new stars seemingly taking over the spotlight. However, one name that’s making a compelling case for leadership is none other than Jacob Fatu, the Samoan Werewolf. It may seem hard to believe, but just a short while ago, he was simply another wrestling enthusiast like myself.
Now, though, Fatu has transformed into an unstoppable force since joining The Bloodline, but let me tell you, it wasn’t all that long ago when he was working late-night shifts at Walmart. At San Diego Comic-Con, he shared his incredible story of full circle moments, reminding us all about the humble beginnings that led him to where he stands today.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, TopMob attended Mattel’s toy presentation. Joining them were Jacob Fatu, Giulia, Jey Uso, and CM Punk. They all got a sneak peek at the upcoming figures for the remainder of the year and into 2026. Jacob Fatu has some action figures in the pipeline, showcasing his gear from PLE, which will be accessible to Peacock subscribers. He also shared insights about how this ties back to his past career in retail.
In my past, I worked nights at Walmart. My role was as a stocker. During those nights, I often found myself browsing through the toy section, particularly the action figures of wrestlers. Looking back at where I am now compared to then? Quite fascinating, indeed, quite fascinating.
Later, Fatu admitted that discussing the moment left him feeling so emotional he needed to put on sunglasses to hide his tears from the audience. The crowd was moved when they saw the normally tough wrestler display such vulnerability, and they still showed their appreciation for it. The applause from the crowd was abundant, and I believe it was just as well-received as Jey Uso repeating his song twice, allowing the audience to join in with their “Yeet” cheers.
In a later part of the discussion, Fatu shared that his Samoan cousins, who are quite a few and some of whom are involved with WWE, were frequently exposed to wrestling action figures due to their family members. Essentially, this meant that Fatu wasn’t merely intrigued by wrestling toys because he thought he might end up in WWE; there was also a sense of nostalgia attached to it since these toys reminded him of his past experiences.
Looking back, it’s as if I’ve traveled back in time to my youth. All we had were action figures and wrestling rings for playthings, making them our cherished possessions during our upbringing.
As a fan, I can’t help but feel that it’s only natural for Jacob Fatu, Solo Sikoa, Roman Reigns, and the Usos (Jey and Jimmy) to have grown up immersed in wrestling toys. After all, it’s no secret they’ve each carved out significant roles within the WWE. Wrestling seems to run through their veins not only due to familial connections but because it was an integral part of their childhood experiences!

It seems that WWE is making a glaring error in the formation of Seth Rollins’ new faction, and it’s evident that Triple H, being an experienced figure within the organization, should be aware of how to rectify this issue.
Beyond the touching instances, there was plenty of enjoyable entertainment at the Mattel panel. CM Punk, an unexpected visitor at the event, hinted that the next WWE event could potentially feature a Royal Rumble match filled with every Samoan in the company. We’re not quite at the 30-participant mark yet, but it would be intriguing to see if such an event could take place if a few legendary Samoans decided to come out of retirement.
If Rikishi remains fine with Jey Uso’s scheduling, I’d love for him to perform the “Too Cool” dance one more time in the ring. Frankly, I believe even “The Final Boss,” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, might be persuaded to make an appearance. However, given how WrestleMania 31 ended with him, it wouldn’t surprise me if WWE hesitated to reach out.
WWE Mattel toy collections will be released in various waves at numerous major stores from 2025 to 2026. TopMob has spotted some exciting upcoming items, and here’s a heads-up: stay alert for new releases in the coming months!
