25th April marked a significant achievement for Vega as she claimed the WWE Women’s United States Championship from Chelsea Green on SmackDown. The joy and significance of the moment were palpable post-match, despite interferences by Alba Fyre and Piper Niven. Vega managed to overcome their interference and secure victory, but the surprises didn’t end there. Later in the episode, her husband, Aleister Black, made a triumphant return to WWE, keeping Vega preoccupied throughout the entire show.

On that particular day, the focus wasn’t primarily on me claiming the Title; it was more about my husband returning home. In truth, I only learned about his return shortly before the event began, causing my thoughts to be elsewhere. Suddenly, I received the news and realized I didn’t have much time to feel extra anxious, as usual. It was wonderful because it was heartening to witness him back at work again. This was a significant moment for me. For years, we had eagerly anticipated this moment, and seeing him around brought immense joy.

Vega explained, “Suddenly, things shifted, and I found myself in a situation without much time to think about it. I don’t typically get overly enthusiastic until an event actually occurs, but when I learned the truth as I climbed the ramp, that’s when it truly hit me. It felt real then. So yes, it was exhilarating and everything I had hoped for, especially since it was my first ever singles title. It remains incredibly significant to me, something I have desired for a long time.

Initially, when I joined WWE, I functioned as a manager. However, deep down, I harbored the ambition of becoming a wrestler. My superior saw me primarily as a manager, and thus, my efforts were channeled in that direction. But all along, I was clear about my ultimate objective – to be crowned Champion. So, it’s absolutely insane to finally be able to say after years and years, “I am one.” This is Vega speaking.

People who attended the SmackDown events prior to that episode had a sneak peek of Aleister Black‘s comeback through a series of hinting clips, one of which was played during Vega’s time in the ring before her match. At the arena, Vega herself responded to the video teaser with a smile, evidently excited about her husband’s upcoming WWE return as portrayed in the clip. Indeed, I cannot hide my feelings as they are deeply connected to him. Even at home or in casual moments like this, I find myself grinning because of him. Honestly, it’s a struggle to maintain composure when he’s involved or the topic is about him. But I can’t help but feel genuinely happy.” – Vega explained.

Vega recalled a specific instance, saying she was perched on the top turnbuckle in a pose, trying not to give away the teaser video I’m referring to, but her joy and excitement were evident through her smile. She also mentioned that they often have her and another person positioned back-to-back, making it hard not to be thrilled about this connection.

A Fighting Champion

Vega’s Title reign offers an opportunity for her to demonstrate her diverse abilities against various opponents such as Chelsea Green, Piper Niven, Alba Fyre, Charlotte Flair, and Giulia. As a heel, my job was to be over but ultimately help the babyface shine. That’s the nature of the game, and for quite some time, that was my role. Therefore, I didn’t get many opportunities to showcase my abilities, or explore what I could truly do, until very recently.

In that unforgettable battle against Charlotte and Giulia, I can’t help but recall the electrifying “this is awesome” chants that filled the arena. At that moment, I found myself yearning for a match with Charlotte more than ever before. You hear fans discussing their favorite opponents, and I too have my picks, but I hadn’t faced off against Charlotte until then.

That encounter made me understand why so many adore wrestling her. The crowd was completely united, there was no ambiguity – it was clear who the good guy and bad guy were. Moreover, it was effortless to engage with them, and equally simple to play off her performance.

Vega expressed her enthusiasm about having the chance to compete against Piper again, stating, “I’ve always known where I wanted to take our title match, and now I finally get the opportunity. I’ve been eagerly waiting for this moment because Piper is someone I truly enjoy wrestling. She’s incredibly skilled, yet often overlooked. When we step into the ring together, I know it’s going to be tough, but it will also be fantastic.

In a similar vein, Vega mentioned, “Simultaneously, there’s this desire to create magic with her. To be honest, the Bakersfield Brawl is currently one of my top matches. It was a bit unclear if it was an Extreme Rules match or a Hardcore match, but either way, it’s definitely among my favorites. This was because we had the opportunity to do things we hadn’t done before, like using weapons. I remember thinking, where do you hold the kendo stick, buddy? It was all new to me, as I’d never been in a match like that before. It was just so thrilling to be part of it and work with different weapons, especially Piper. I feel we really produced some entertaining TV moments and a fun match. I can’t wait to see what’s next for me with Gulia and everything. It’s an exciting prospect, something I haven’t had the chance to do before.

Vega has consistently shone on the microphone, yet she’s also developing a knack for comedy. One of her funniest moments occurred when she unexpectedly interrupted Chelsea during a phone call rant in a perfectly timed manner. “Thank you, that wasn’t scripted, at least not like that,” Vega remarked. “Things didn’t go as planned, but let’s just say the phone wasn’t functioning properly, and I thought to myself, why not?

As we worked together, I sensed a promising dynamic, and although we didn’t know then what the future held for us title-wise, with everyone aiming for the Title, I always remain prepared.

Vega expressed that she finds the situation thrilling as she’s often been underestimated throughout her life. Despite being considered an unlikely contender, she possesses a resilient spirit and fearlessness, having overcome adversity from her peers in Queens. She’s ready to prove herself once more, giving it her all regardless of the outcome. Every ounce of her determination will be poured into her performance, and she views this challenge as one of the toughest in her career, but she’s eagerly anticipating it.

Evolution 2 Has Finally Arrived

For years, there’ve been whispers and speculations about it, but never before had WWE brought back Evolution, their premium live women’s event. But now, it’s happening next month! As a fan, I can’t help but dream up my perfect scenario for this long-awaited comeback.

Vega expressed that they held similar thoughts. Essentially, they felt like everyone knows about Evolution, but never truly know if or when it will occur. As the saying goes, timing is crucial, yet with Evolution, one can never tell. However, in their opinion, there was an intense desire for it, particularly since the initial event was so impressive. Now, Vega wishes to participate in some manner, ideally facing Asuka again. The return of Asuka on Monday was thrilling, and they look phenomenal, continuing to excel just as before.

Vega expressed his desire for another bout with Asuka, stating, “Indeed, it’s Asuka we’re talking about! And yes, I’d be thrilled for a rematch with her. The roles have reversed now; I’m the Champion and she’s the one seeking to dethrone me. Previously, I was always the challenger, with her as the reigning champion. So absolutely, I want that match with Asuka.
