With so many fake images of X-Men and Avengers characters appearing online before next year’s movie, Kelsey Grammer, a returning actor from previous films, has offered some genuine insights into the highly anticipated MCU multiverse project. Unlike the unofficial photos circulating of actors like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, Grammer recently discussed his experiences filming the movie in a real interview.
Some fans were surprised to see Hank McCoy, also known as Beast, rendered with CGI in a recent cameo in The Marvels. They missed his more realistic look from the original X-Men films. However, this new CGI version actually matches his appearance in the X-Men ’97 animated series and brings the character closer to how he looks in the comic books, differing from his portrayal in the early 2000s X-Men movies and their sequels.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the former Frasier star shared that, unlike previous experiences, he was able to be on set and work alongside several Marvel heroes—and even a villain. He then stated:
I’m a fan of Robert Downey Jr.; he’s a really great person. We actually shared a scene together, though I don’t want to say too much about it because I’m not sure what I’m allowed to discuss. I also had a fantastic time working with Pedro Pascal, the new actor from Fantastic Four. He’s wonderful, and we enjoyed working together a lot.
It appears Grammer is playing a larger role in the new movie than expected. The character of Beast is now entirely computer-generated, and Grammer is contributing much more than just a voice performance. While the exact extent of Beast’s involvement remains unclear, the film has a large cast, so screen time will be divided among many characters.
Kelsey Grammer Was Thrilled to Return as Beast

20th Century Studios
Beast’s first live-action appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in the film The Marvels, was a welcome surprise for many viewers who hadn’t seen spoilers. For actor Kelsey Grammer, it was a joy to revisit a character he enjoyed playing, and he was optimistic about the possibility of future appearances at the time.
I really hope we get to see him again, and I’m pretty confident we will. I’d love to play the role again – I’ve always thought he’s a fascinating and important character, someone who really resonates with people. I’m thrilled Beast is returning and hope this comeback is meaningful.
Like other actors from the X-Men who are now part of the Avengers, Kelsey Grammer is confirmed to return for Avengers: Doomsday. However, whether he’ll also be in Avengers: Secret Wars remains a mystery – even Grammer himself isn’t sharing that information yet.
