X-Men Star Says There’s “So Much” to Explore of the Character in MCU Future

Apocalypse (released in 2016), presented the main elements of that event. However, for various production reasons, the film didn’t quite strike a chord with audiences or critics, perhaps due to the increasing popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which may have overshadowed the exciting aspects introduced by the movie. Ben Hardy made his X-Men debut as Angel in Apocalypse, and he transformed into Archangel in the film. Although several X-Men veterans are expected to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, Hardy hasn’t been contacted yet. Despite this, he expressed that, like fans, he sees a lot of cinematic potential for Angel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, regardless of whether he gets to portray the character or not. Fans can next see Hardy in The Conjuring: Last Rites, which is set to be released in theaters on September 5th.

As a fan myself, I can’t help but express my affection for the role I played in that movie, although it was rather small. The character in the comic books seems to hold a wealth of untapped potential, a sentiment I believe many X-Men enthusiasts would agree with. Although unexplored on film to a great extent thus far, I firmly believe there’s an abundance to delve into and bring to life.

If given the chance, I’d jump at the opportunity to further explore this character, having already conducted extensive research. Fingers crossed for a call that might just give me the opportunity to share my passion with audiences on the big screen. So here’s to spreading the word and creating some buzz!

Following a trio of hit X-Men films, 2011’s X-Men: First Class functioned as a prelude to the initial movies, while X-Men: Days of Future Past facilitated the gathering of various X-Men actors across generations. Apocalypse and the subsequent Dark Phoenix combined cast members from both generations, but the confirmed actors for Doomsday hail exclusively from the original version of the characters. It remains uncertain if the second generation of X-Men actors will enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although there is consensus among the cast and fans about the untapped potential in characters who were underdeveloped in past big-screen outings.

While eager Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) followers anticipate news about Hardy’s role, they can catch him in the film “The Conjuring: Last Rites“, portrayed as “Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reunite for their final case as real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in a terrifying and thrilling sequel to the hit franchise.

Keep an eye out for the latest news about the X-Men within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Don’t forget to watch “The Conjuring: Last Rites” when it arrives in cinemas on the 5th of September.
