Marvel’s Blade is one of Xbox’s highly anticipated projects, developed by Arkane Studios – known for creating games such as Dishonored, PREY, and Deathloop. Yet, it seems that the game might still be a considerable time away from hitting store shelves.
As a devoted follower, I can share that based on the recent financial update I’ve gathered (thanks to Timur222), it appears Arkane Studios’ current AAA undertaking, most likely Marvel’s Blade, didn’t fully kick into high gear until late 2024.
In light of how long contemporary AAA game development typically takes, it’s perfectly plausible to think that Marvel’s Blade won’t be released for a couple of years yet.
Furthermore, as of now, the public has not had a chance to experience the game firsthand; ever since it was unveiled at The Game Awards in 2023, it’s been shrouded in secrecy.
It’s important to note that Marvel’s Blade hasn’t been officially announced for PS5 yet. However, given Xbox’s growing trend of releasing multiplatform games, there’s a strong possibility that the game could eventually become available on PlayStation 5 as well, similar to The Outer Worlds 2.
There had been apprehension about how Arkane might be affected by Microsoft’s recent job cuts, with brief speculations arising that Marvel’s Blade and multiple other projects at various Xbox studios were terminated.
Fortunately, as hinted earlier, those rumors proved unfounded, and so far, it appears that Arkane remains the primary force behind Marvel’s Blade project.
When do you think we’ll see this one, then? Bare your fangs in the comments section below.
