However, in a recent statement, Sharma suggested that a more conventional next-generation Xbox is still planned.

The Xbox Series X and S launched in 2020, so people have been expecting a new generation of consoles soon. While there have been rumors about Xbox’s plans – including a possible shift away from traditional consoles towards PC hybrids – details have been scarce. While recent statements from CEO Asha Sharma haven’t completely calmed concerns about the next Xbox, she did emphasize “the return of Xbox,” suggesting a shift away from the idea of Xbox being everywhere. Sharma also shared the console’s internal code name, “Project Helix,” which is the first official hint about what the team is calling the next-generation console. However, like most code names, it doesn’t reveal many details about the console itself.

This suggests the idea of combining consoles and PCs might still be in development, despite earlier reports that it was scrapped.
