Xbox Game Pass for January 2026 is looking rather hot — with Resident Evil Village as the headline act

Xbox Game Pass is trucking along, despite last year’s drama.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate recently saw a significant price increase of 50

Starting in 2026, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be priced higher, and it will be interesting to see how this change affects subscribers. Will the increased cost bring in more money for Xbox, or will people start canceling their subscriptions? And if revenue does increase, will that money be invested in bringing more great games to the service, or will it simply increase Xbox’s profits? Only time will tell, but we can look forward to some exciting new game releases in January.

Microsoft recently announced the newest games coming to Xbox Game Pass in January, and the lineup looks great! The biggest highlight is Resident Evil Village, which was one of the best games released in its year. It concludes the story of Ethan Winters and offers a diverse gameplay experience, blending classic survival horror with more action-packed moments, all while featuring a memorable cast of terrifying enemies. Here’s a list of the games being added and when you can play them.

With Resident Evil Village now available on Xbox PC, Game Pass Premium, and Ultimate, players are wondering if it will be added to the Xbox Play Anywhere program. Capcom’s support for Play Anywhere has been inconsistent throughout the Resident Evil series – Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 2 both offer this feature, making them great choices for playing on devices like the Xbox Ally. Currently, Resident Evil Village doesn’t support Play Anywhere, and there’s no information yet on whether the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem will either.

It’s great to see more Xbox Play Anywhere games being added, like Atomfall and Little Nightmares. Both of these games perform really well on the Xbox Series S and the Xbox Ally handheld. Atomfall is an interesting game inspired by STALKER, but set in an alternate version of British history, and it’s based on the real-life Windscale nuclear disaster. Little Nightmares is a spooky puzzle-platformer—if you like games like Limbo or Inside, you’ll love it, and I highly recommend checking it out.

I’m so hyped for the Xbox Developer Direct coming in January! From what everyone’s saying, we’re finally going to get a really good look at games like the new Fable, Gears of War: E-Day, and Forza Horizon 6 – and maybe even a peek at what they’re doing with Halo! It’s crazy to think about how many games Microsoft has in the works – things like State of Decay 3, Blade, and Clockwork Revolution sound amazing. It’s a bit of a bummer to hear that some projects, like Perfect Dark, Everwild, and Contraband, won’t be seeing the light of day, but I’m still really excited about everything else!

The Xbox brand has faced a lot of uncertainty recently, but there’s hope that things will improve by 2026.
