In the past couple of weeks, we’ve had more games added to Xbox Game Pass, providing subscribers with Microsoft’s gaming service even more entertainment options.
As announced on Xbox Wire this week, August is welcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the 2023 spinoff entry in Ubisoft’s popular franchise, to Game Pass.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite, a multiplayer game that was previously available but later rotated out, is also making a comeback this month.
August seems to be starting off with a smaller selection of games, though several titles that were previously exclusive to the Ultimate and PC tiers are now being offered in the Standard version of the service. Among them are highly praised titles like Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector.

Not the biggest month, but check out Aliens: Fireteam Elite
If you’re searching for a fresh cooperative game to enjoy with a buddy or two and you haven’t yet played Aliens: Fireteam Elite, make sure to rectify that when it reappears on Xbox Game Pass soon. I had an incredible time playing through the campaigns alongside a friend, and there are numerous difficulty settings to ensure you find a suitable challenge for your team’s abilities.
The game combines a variety of engaging concepts, even drawing from across the Alien universe, referencing various films and games in ways that seem organic. To be honest, there were some genuinely exciting encounters I didn’t anticipate at the start, making it well worth investigating if you’ve had reservations about its quality.
If you haven’t experienced Assassin’s Creed Mirage yet either, it’s definitely worth a try. When it initially launched, I found it enjoyable, although it lacks some of the combat options from the larger games, which can feel restrictive at times. However, its compact nature is appealing since you can easily obtain every achievement within just 20 hours of exploring and jumping across Baghdad.
It’s particularly entertaining if you’ve grown weary of larger open-world games, like many other RPG-style entries in the series, including this year’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
