After raising the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Microsoft needs to show subscribers that the new $30 monthly cost is worthwhile. A key benefit of the most expensive plan is access to new games on the day they’re released, and Microsoft is focusing on delivering a consistent stream of these titles. They’ve already released three new day-one games this week.
Most games are only available on Xbox Game Pass for a limited time, but one new game made specifically for Xbox Series X is a permanent addition to the service. While these games are on Game Pass, subscribers can get 20% off if they decide to buy them.
Keeper
Keeper is a brand new puzzle adventure game created by Double Fine Productions and Xbox Game Studios, and it’s only available on Xbox Series X. You play as a lighthouse that’s come back to life and is heading towards a mountain on a distant island. The game follows your journey, and you’ll be joined by a lively seabird along the way.
The new Xbox Series X game just came out yesterday, and reviews are still being published. Currently, it has a Metacritic score of 78. Our own review is very positive, giving the unique adventure from Double Fine Productions a 4.5 out of 5 rating.
Pax Dei
Pax Dei is a large-scale, open-world MMO created by Mainframe Industries. While it launched into Steam Early Access earlier this year, the full game was released this week. Currently, it’s only playable on PC and doesn’t have a Metacritic score yet.
Pax Dei is a typical medieval fantasy MMO, but it stands out with its focus on letting players build homes, create their own economies, and shape the game’s politics. We covered these unique features when the game first launched.
BALL x PIT
BALL X PIT is a fresh game that combines the classic brick-breaking experience with base-building and survival elements. Created by Kenny Sun and published by Devolver Digital, it’s currently the best-rated of the three new games added to Xbox Game Pass. It boasts an impressive score of 88 on Metacritic and a 96% positive rating on Steam.
The popular new indie game puts you in control of heroes venturing as far down as they can into a pit filled with monsters. Their goal? To recover treasures from the ruins of the ancient “Ballbylon” empire. We really liked this game, which cleverly combines elements of *Vampire Survivors* and *Arkanoid*, as you can read in our full review.
We’d love to hear your thoughts! Leave a comment below or join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum. Are you planning to try any of these new games available with Xbox Game Pass?
