Xbox Game Pass added a new game yesterday, and another one today. While yesterday’s release was a smaller indie title, today’s is a large-scale fantasy MMO. However, this MMO is only available on PC, not Xbox One, Series S, or Series X, meaning it’s exclusive to PC Game Pass subscribers. Early reviews suggest console players might not be missing a lot, though.
The game *BALL x PIT* launched yesterday and was immediately added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Players are loving it, with an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating and 96% approval on Steam. It’s a unique mix of brick-breaking, base-building, survival, and roguelike elements. If you prefer massively multiplayer online games, be sure to check out *Pax Dei*, which is also new to Xbox Game Pass today.
About the Game
Pax Dei is a multiplayer online game where you can freely interact with a medieval fantasy world, created by Mainframe Industries. It launched today, but it’s already received over 3,000 reviews because players have been testing it since June 18, 2024, through early access.
Based on over 3,000 user reviews, *Pax Dei* currently has a “Mixed” rating with an approval score of 54%. Since it doesn’t have a Metacritic score, these reviews offer the best indication of its quality. Many negative reviews focus on things like how the game is funded, rather than the gameplay itself, which a lot of players actually seem to enjoy.
Despite receiving a “Mixed” rating on PC, *Pax Dei* is a standard fantasy MMO blending medieval Europe with fantastical elements. What sets it apart is that players build *everything* – from town walls and shops to the goods sold inside, and even the villages themselves. While many MMOs include home building, *Pax Dei*’s system is remarkably complex. You’ll need to consider things like structural integrity, which can sometimes limit your creativity. However, the game generally focuses on creating a deeply immersive experience, even with its magical setting.
Pax Dei is a noteworthy addition to Xbox Game Pass because the service doesn’t feature many MMOs, and those it does have, like The Elder Scrolls Online, Black Desert, and Fallout 76 (with its MMO aspects), are generally older titles. If Pax Dei doesn’t appeal to you, Xbox Game Pass recently added another medieval game that’s quickly gaining popularity.
