The latest additions to Xbox Game Pass evoke memories of the initial Xbox console, launched on November 15, 2001 – exactly 24 years ago. Over the years, we’ve seen the debut of subsequent consoles like the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and most recently, the Xbox Series X. Yet, it’s the Xbox 360 that has held the top spot in terms of popularity, by a considerable margin. Nevertheless, the original Xbox might hold a special place in the hearts of dedicated Xbox fans, as it was their inaugural Xbox console.
This week, two classic games from the past are now playable through Xbox Game Pass. But unlike their original, nostalgic versions, these are modern reboots that came out today. To be precise, starting today, you can access Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. As the name indicates, this is a combined remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. The original versions of these games were launched in 2001 and 2002.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 was developed by Neversoft and Activision (now owned by Xbox). This game received an impressive 97 score on Metacritic, placing it among the highest-rated games ever released, and earning it a spot as one of the all-time great games. The next year, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 was also released by this team, receiving a 94 score on Metacritic, making it one of the top-rated and best games of its time.
Excitement builds as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 make their comeback! The classic elements are here, but refined and upgraded with additional skaters, innovative skate parks, daring stunts, ear-splitting tracks, and plenty of fresh surprises.
Since this game belongs to Activision and is therefore playable on Xbox, it seems likely that it will become a permanent part of the Xbox Game Pass collection. At present, it’s only accessible through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on console. However, as long as it’s included in Xbox Game Pass, subscribers can enjoy a 20% discount when they decide to purchase it.
