Xbox has announced the internal name for its next gaming console, and a quick teaser on social media has quickly become a hot topic online.
The Xbox Series X and S consoles first came out in 2020, so it’s a natural time for Microsoft to release new models, despite the ongoing challenges with parts availability.
This is a perfect time for Xbox to share some exciting news. With Asha Sharma recently appointed as the new CEO – replacing Phil Spencer and promising a revitalized Xbox – it’s clear she’s already moving quickly to make that happen!
Xbox recently shared a short teaser on their social media pages. You can find the post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The caption says, simply, “The next generation of Xbox console: Project Helix”.
The video features the phrase “Project Helix” displayed in white letters against a black screen, alongside a redesigned Xbox logo with a more curved shape.
Xbox head Asha Sharma shared that the team had a productive morning discussing their plans for the future of Xbox, including Project Helix – the internal name for their next console.
As a huge fan, I’m so excited about Project Helix! From what I understand, it’s going to really boost performance and let me play my favorite Xbox and PC games even better. I can’t wait to hear more details – I hear the team is sharing updates with partners and studios at GDC next week, and I’m really looking forward to that!
We haven’t announced a release date, price, or specifications for Project Helix yet.
It’s definitely interesting that this device can play PC games. Whether it will include the Steam store remains to be seen, but rumors suggest it might.
I’m really hoping we get some more info at GDC next week! It starts on March 9th, just in case anyone was curious. I’m excited to see what they reveal!
