In November, when STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl is released for the PlayStation 5, it will include several unique characteristics tailored for that platform.
Essentially, it appears that developer GSC Game World has put in exceptional effort. Originally, this open-world shooter was an exclusive for Xbox consoles, which means the team is aiming to impress a brand-new group of players.
According to a formal announcement from the studio, STALKER 2 has been specifically tailored to run smoothly on the PlayStation 5. The release highlights several key optimizations.

- Adaptive Triggers and Haptic Feedback Support
- Gyro Aiming through Motion Sensor
- Speakers, Lightbar, and Touchpad Gesture Utilization
- Tempest 3D Audio
- Trophies
Utilizing gyro aiming is certainly significant, considering that only a small number of shooting games take advantage of the motion sensors in the DualSense controller.
On top of that, PS5 players can also expect the following graphical improvements on PS5 Pro:
- Improved shadow quality and resolution
- Enhanced global illumination
- Higher-quality reflections
- Improved volumetric fog
- Enhanced volumetric cloud rendering
Indeed, it’s quite remarkable, and it’s evident that the game has made significant progress since its rocky start in November of the previous year.
Without a doubt, we’ve previously detailed every improvement to both the gameplay and the engine, all of which will be activated prior to the launch of its PS5 iteration.
