Xbox Reveals Major Changes Being Made to Achievements

Xbox is updating its achievements system with some big changes. Achievements first appeared with the launch of the Xbox 360 and quickly became a favorite feature for players. They were so popular, in fact, that other platforms like PlayStation and Steam added similar features. Now, Xbox is working to improve achievements even further with updates that will affect all users.

Xbox recently announced some updates to achievements. When you unlock an achievement, the visual pop-up will have a slightly new animation, though the emblems for common and rare achievements will stay the same. Also, you’ll now have the option to hide achievement lists for specific games if you prefer a cleaner look when browsing your game library. Hidden games will still contribute to your total achievement score, making it easier to find the achievements you do want to see.

Now, Xbox players who earn all achievements in a game can showcase that accomplishment on their profile. Xbox is also introducing a new filter for achievement lists, making it simpler to find and view all the games you’ve fully completed.

Honestly, these changes aren’t going to shake up how achievements work on Xbox – don’t worry about that! They’re just little improvements that make the whole experience better, and I think pretty much everyone will appreciate them. It’s all good stuff!

When Will These Achievements Changes Come to All Xbox Users?

Currently, these achievement updates aren’t available to everyone. They’re being tested first with members of the Xbox Insiders program. While Insiders can start trying them out today, it will be a little while longer before they’re released to all Xbox players.

The changes Xbox is making to achievements are entering a short testing period. Xbox expects to release these updates later this month to players on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC worldwide, allowing everyone to experience the improvements soon.
