Xbox Series X and Series S Consoles Updated With 3 New Features

So, Microsoft just dropped a new update for my Xbox Series X, and it’s pretty cool. They’re adding three new features designed to make the whole experience feel more… me, I guess? It’s not just about connecting with friends either, they want to help me feel more connected to the games I actually love playing. Some people already have it, but it’s rolling out to everyone soon!

The new update is currently available to Xbox Insiders. If testing goes well, it should be released to all Xbox users before the end of the year – that’s usually how these updates are launched.

Customize Games and Apps

Xbox is updating how your Home screen and Games & Apps library look to make them more personal. The update introduces visually appealing game artwork and lets you choose which icons appear, creating a cleaner, more organized experience. Plus, the Home screen and Games & Apps sections are now separate.

Upgrade to Wishlists

Wishlists on Xbox Series X and S are getting better! Now, you can add games to your wishlist right from the game’s details page, even before they’re released for sale.

Change to Mutual Friends

This update also lets Xbox users see shared friends when they visit someone’s profile, if the profile owner allows it. This is designed to make it easier and more comfortable to connect with people you have things in common with.

Xbox has recently released an update for all Xbox consoles – including the latest Series X and S models, as well as older Xbox One systems. This update changes how consoles enter standby mode to a more energy-efficient shutdown option. The goal is to significantly reduce power usage, potentially by up to 20 times! While the rollout has begun, it’s still happening gradually, so not everyone will have the update just yet.

Xbox hasn’t announced when the next full update – one that isn’t part of the early access program – will be released. We don’t know when the new features will be available to all players, and it’s likely there will be several smaller updates before they’re fully launched.
