Given that Gears of War is scheduled for its PS5 premiere next month, being included in The Coalition’s updated version of the original game, it had long been speculated that the prequel, E-Day, might also be released on the PlayStation platform.
Now, with whispers growing about potential Microsoft announcements, it seems that an employee’s resume may have inadvertently revealed details about an upcoming launch.
On his personal site, the level designer Mihir Modak (who’s been with The Coalition since 2024) specifies that the game will be playable on “PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S”.

It’s quite challenging to believe that such detailed information about his work was added accidentally, given the page is densely packed with it.
On a related webpage discussing Homeworld 3, he lists the same three systems, even though the RTS game was exclusively launched for PC. This could suggest that he might have been developing a port, but it didn’t get released in the end.
Either way, it wouldn’t really be a stretch to see E-Day launch on the PS5, would it?
Here’s a little more information about the game, courtesy of Xbox.com:
16 years prior to the events of Gears of War, war veterans Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago find themselves back home, confronting a fresh terror: the Locust Horde. These underground creatures, hideous and unyielding, surge forth from beneath the earth, threatening humanity as they wage their assault.
Essentially, almost all Xbox games are now available on Sony’s console too. Given that this particular game takes place 14 years prior to the original, it should be relatively straightforward for PlayStation gamers to follow the storyline.
Here’s my take on it: Just as hinted earlier, a fresh report suggests that Microsoft might be gearing up to unveil some exciting multiformat updates very soon. I can hardly wait!
To date, it has achieved immense popularity by transitioning its games to the PS5 platform, and Forza Horizon 5 has been a standout hit, selling exceptionally well among this year’s PlayStation releases – even though it was released four years ago.
A report from MP1st suggests that the frequently postponed zombie-themed game State of Decay 3 could also be released on Sony’s platform. However, we were unable to locate the initial source for this information. It does seem plausible, doesn’t it?
So, how can we ensure the successful sales of Killer Instinct and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, you ask? Let’s discuss that!
