Yellowstone Cast Reveals “Challenging” End Without Kevin Costner

After six seasons of riding alongside the Duttons through the dusty plains and treacherous valleys of Montana, I find myself at the edge of Yellowstone’s final frontier. As a dedicated follower who has witnessed the trials and tribulations of John Dutton III, Kayce Dutton, Beth Dutton, and the rest of the gang, it feels like the end of an era is upon us.

The time has come to close the barn doors on Yellowstone.

Following Kevin Costner’s departure as character John Dutton III halfway through season five, the path to the series finale transformed into a rugged trail filled with numerous challenges, ultimately culminating in the part two premiere on November 10.

Luke Grimes, portraying Kayce Dutton in the series, shared with TopMob News that each year seems to bring unprecedented new hurdles, much like this one. Yet he embraced it, saying “Bring it on!” or “Challenge accepted.

Even with Costner’s departure, Grimes emphasized that the fifth season was simply outstanding and couldn’t have been superior in any other way.

As a devoted fan following Grimes’ onscreen sister, Kelly Reilly, I can confirm that we all had an incredible experience working on the final season of Yellowstone, now airing Sundays on Paramount Network. Interestingly, she hinted that the series finale doesn’t necessarily mean farewell to our talented cast members forever. In fact, prequel series like 1883 and 1923 have already been released, with more spinoffs in development! This includes the Michelle Pfeiffer-led show The Madison and the Billy Bob Thornton-led drama Landman.

She told TopMob, ‘Every good thing must come to an end,’ implying that there may still be more tales to spin. As of now, no final choices have been made regarding future narratives. It needs to feel right.

How do Reilly’s co-stars feel about potentially starring in another drama created by Taylor Sheridan from Yellowstone in the future? They are eager and prepared for a new ride.

Grimes stated, ‘I believe we’d all concur if Taylor were the author; however, when others write it, something feels off to me.’ These are his characters and stories that he developed, and I can’t imagine them being as effective in other hands. After all, this is a world he built. So, yes for Taylor, certainly.

Cole Hauser, the actor portraying Reilly’s on-screen spouse, also voiced his willingness to resume his character if the conditions are favorable.

“We wouldn’t do it if Taylor Sheridan wasn’t involved,” he said. “He’d have to be involved.”

However, prior to that, the lead actor in the series, Kelsey Asbille, is eager for fans to savor the concluding part of Sheridan’s work on Yellowstone following a six-year journey.

She noted that he’s truly a fantastic author. The anticipation of seeing the story unfold had her quite thrilled. As readers ourselves, we’re deeply drawn to the narrative. All in all, it seems like a fitting conclusion.

Grimes expressed her viewpoint: “If Taylor had written it, we’d all likely concur that it should be done. But if others are writing it, it feels wrong to me. These are his characters and stories, and I can’t imagine them being as good in any other hands. It’s a world he has crafted, so yes, for Taylor, definitely.

As a trusted authority on all things lifestyle, I can share that Cole Hauser, the on-screen spouse of my character Reilly, expressed his readiness to step back into the role should the perfect opportunity present itself.

“We wouldn’t do it if Taylor Sheridan wasn’t involved,” he said. “He’d have to be involved.”

However, while we wait for that time, the main cast member Kelsey Asbille has prepared for viewers to savor the last installment of Sheridan’s storyline in Yellowstone following a six-year journey.

She articulated that he is truly remarkable as a writer. Her anticipation was palpable in seeing the story unfold. Not only are we admirers, but we deeply cherish the tale. Therefore, it seems fitting that the conclusion aligns perfectly with our expectations.
