Yellowstone spin-off casts Ozark and Narcos actors alongside original series stars

The upcoming Yellowstone spin-off, focusing on the stories of Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser), has added several new actors to its cast as filming continues in Texas.

This new series picks up with the couple as they begin a fresh phase of their lives, after the dramatic conclusion of Yellowstone’s fifth season last December.

According to Paramount, John and Beth Dutton appreciate the hard-won peace they’ve found on their massive 7,000-acre ranch, but they’re facing new challenges and strong rivals in the future.

As a huge Yellowstone fan, I’m completely invested in Beth and Rip’s story, and how they’ll do anything to not only get by, but also to make sure Carter grows up to be a good man. It’s really at the heart of what makes their dynamic so compelling to watch.

Taylor Sheridan continues his popular western story with some new faces. Four actors, known from acclaimed American dramas, are joining the cast in exciting new roles.

Natalie Alyn Lind, known for her role in The Goldbergs, will play a character named Oreana – a free-spirited young woman. It’s currently unknown how her story will connect to the Dutton family and their ranch.

Marc Menchaca will play Zachariah, a recently released prisoner who arrives at the Dutton ranch looking for a new life as a cowboy and horse handler.

The actor is known for his roles in popular crime dramas, including Russ Langmore in the Netflix series Ozark and, most recently, as the unsettling Red Schmidt (also known as The Dark Passenger) in Dexter: Resurrection.

Juan Pablo Raba, known for his roles in shows like Echo 3, Narcos, and Agents of SHIELD, will play Joaquin, a skilled and resourceful ranch hand on Yellowstone. Joaquin is good at fixing any problem, which could be dangerous given the unpredictable nature of the ranch.

Finally, JR Villarreal will play Azul, the loyal assistant to Rip Hauser. He previously appeared in another Taylor Sheridan/Paramount series, Landman, alongside Billy Bob Thornton.

The show recently added several well-known actors, including Ed Harris, famous for his role in Westworld, and Annette Bening, who starred in Apples Never Fall. Jai Courtney, known from Suicide Squad and American Primeval, is also joining the cast.

Details about Annette Bening’s character are still secret. However, Variety says Woody Harrelson will play Everett McKinney, a cheerful vet, and Courtney will portray a strong and authoritative ranch foreman.

The Dutton Ranch is currently filming, with a premiere expected to be scheduled sometime next year.

You’ll soon be able to watch the Dutton Ranch on Paramount Plus. Enjoy the entire Yellowstone universe with a Paramount Plus subscription.
