A popular actor from Yellowstone is headlining a new show that’s getting a lot of positive attention, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
Kelly Reilly, famous for her role as Beth Dutton in the popular neo-Western series created by Taylor Sheridan, is now starring in the new miniseries Under Salt Marsh. The show centers on a former detective who now teaches and is investigating a crime in her hometown. She teams up with her ex-partner to solve the mystery before an approaching storm wipes out the clues. Under Salt Marsh has already received very positive reviews.
As of February 6th, the new TV series Under Salt Marsh has received perfect reviews, earning a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on five reviews. This makes it the best-reviewed show so far in Claire Oakley’s career, surpassing Britannia (92%) and Yellowstone (83%). Under Salt Marsh stars Rafe Spall, Naomi Yang, and Jonathan Pryce.
The British crime thriller debuted on Sky Atlantic on January 30th. Director Oakley, who directed four episodes of Under Salt Marsh, also directed three episodes of Culprits and wrote and directed the film Make Up. With a strong cast and excellent reviews, Oakley’s series has the potential to be among the best recent thriller miniseries.

Kelly Reilly enjoyed a successful career for many years before becoming widely known for her role in Yellowstone. She first gained recognition for her stage work in the 2003-2004 production of After Miss Julie, which earned her an Olivier Award nomination. Following that, she appeared in several popular films, including as Caroline Bingley in the 2005 film Pride & Prejudice and Mary Morstan in the 2009 movie Sherlock Holmes.
Reilly has also appeared in films like A Haunting in Venice, True Detective, Black Box, and Heaven Is for Real. She’s reuniting with her Yellowstone co-star Cole Hauser in The Dutton Ranch, a new series that follows Beth and Rip as they manage their ranch and family. This is one of several exciting shows planned to expand the Yellowstone universe.
The new series, The Dutton Ranch, is currently slated to debut in 2026. While fans wait, they can watch Kelly Reilly in the upcoming thriller, Under Salt Marsh. This marks Reilly’s first project since Yellowstone ended in 2024, giving her a chance to showcase her range and prove she’s capable of much more, even after her powerful portrayal of Beth Dutton became so iconic.
