Absolutely,
“Indeed, Chef! It’s with great enthusiasm that we share the news: The Bear has indeed greenlit Season 5, and our taste buds are already eager for the delicious dishes they might serve up next!”
The prospect of Season 5 for the series “The Bear” was uncertain following the finale of Season 4, but fortunately, it didn’t take too long after the debut of the fourth season that we learned we would revisit one of Hulu’s top shows again for a fifth installment.
What can we anticipate for the storyline in Season 5? Let’s discuss the latest updates on The Bear‘s upcoming season.
What will happen in Season 5 of The Bear, and when is it coming out? Here are the current details about The Bear Season 5.
What Is The Bear Season 5 Premiere Date?
As I write this in July 2025, it’s been confirmed that The Bear will likely debut its Season 5 in 2026. However, the specific release date has not been announced as of now. This information was made public by Deadline.
Remarkably, The Bear has proven to be consistently outstanding, considering there was uncertainty about whether Season 5 would materialize at one point. In today’s TV landscape, it’s nearly as difficult to find as a mythical unicorn for the show to continue premiering new episodes annually.
It’s rare for a big TV series to come back annually with a new season, except perhaps network shows such as Abbott Elementary. However, it’s fantastic that streaming series like The Bear manage to do so consistently. Compared to other shows that take their time, such as Stranger Things Season 5 (released in 2022), Wednesday Season 2 (also released in 2022), The Witcher Season 4 (released in 2023), and many more, these consistent releases are a breath of fresh air.
Indeed, “The Bear” can be found on FX too, given that FX and Hulu have an arrangement for shows to debut on Hulu first. Nevertheless, including it in the 2026 TV lineup would certainly be a great success.
The Bear Season 5 Cast

The future lineup for the TV show “The Bear” is uncertain due to the finale of Season 4 leaving questions about Jeremy Allen White’s recurring role as Carmy. However, even if he doesn’t return, I believe the outstanding cast makes it possible for any character to carry the show successfully.
Despite this, a number of characters from The Bear cast might still appear in Season 5. Among them are:
- Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu
- Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richie Jerimovich
- Lionel Boyce as Marcus Brooks
- Liza Colon-Zayas as Tina Marrero
- Abby Elliot as Natalie Berzatto
- Matty Matheson as Neil Fak
- Edwin Lee Gibson as Ebraheim
- Molly Gordon as Claire Dunlap
In Season 5, we might see more characters besides the main crew. Will Poulter’s role as Luca expanded significantly in Season 4 and was quite prominent. Similarly, Jaime Lee Curtis’ character, Donna, who always manages to make me emotional each season, had a substantial screen presence in the fourth season. Essentially, any character could reappear, contingent upon the narrative.
What Could The Bear Season 5 Be About?

Here’s where things get intriguing as there is absolutely no information available regarding what Season 5 might entail. The season has only recently been announced, and interviews have been scant. However, with some investigation and a touch of good fortune, we can speculate on a few possibilities:
What Happened At The End Of Season 4?
To recap, the climax of The Bear Season 4 was packed with unexpected turns. In a pivotal discussion, Carmy, Syd, and Richie engaged in a conversation that could be described as unprecedented. The topic? Carmy was contemplating departing not only from the restaurant but also the entire industry.
He transferred ownership of The Bear’s share to Syd, and is currently leaning toward abandoning all his possessions – a move whose wisdom remains uncertain. Both Syd and Richie aren’t thrilled with his decision, and for now, only they, along with Natalie (who joined in at the last moment), are privy to his intentions.
Everyone would find it quite a surprising development. As Lionel Boyce mentioned during his interview with Collider in June 2025, he’s unsure how Marcus would respond to the news given that it was Carmy who influenced him to become the talented baker we know today.
I inquired if my question had the same meaning, and I pondered about Marcus’ reaction when he learns about it. The one who guided him towards this situation, I am curious to know how their conversation will unfold since it’s quite significant. Carmy has made a decision regarding his personal life, but what are the implications?
It’s quite a sensation for Marcus, as he has recently been recognized among the Top New Chefs by Food & Wine magazine. That’s quite something!
Would Could Possibly Happen Next?
There’s a strong possibility for more developments ahead. It wouldn’t astonish me if Carmy decides to move on. I believe the ensemble of The Bear has made quite an impact beyond their series, and given White’s ambitions to explore other ventures, it’s not unexpected. Interestingly, he is set to star in a biopic titled Deliver Me From Nowhere, where he portrays Bruce Springsteen.
It’s also plausible that his actions align with his personality, given Carmy’s ongoing struggle with finding love in his work. If this decision is what he believes serves his mental well-being, it could prove beneficial for him to depart.
With Marcus appointed as the new chef, his fresh culinary journey is at stake. Sydney has been contemplating her departure from The Bear, but with Carmy giving her this new role, she may not have another option. The restaurant, while no longer clearly doomed, still leaves many investors feeling it should shut down. There’s a lot of uncertainty about the future at this point.
Additionally, there’s room for delving deeper into the past events that shaped each character, particularly Ebraheim. In a Vulture interview from July 2025, Edwin Lee Gibson expressed his enthusiasm for uncovering Ebraheim’s background and the unique factors that define his personality.
So far, we haven’t witnessed Ebra’s personal struggle – his psychological trauma. While we’ve been exposed to the challenges faced by other characters, there’s a layer about Ebra that remains unexplored. I’m eager to see more of his storyline, but what I find intriguing is when his past traumas resurface, taking us back to events from long ago. This aligns with the show’s theme of delving deep into characters’ lives, only to have our emotions tugged in unexpected ways.
It’s quite possible that we’ll see a significant increase in the appearance of Ebraheim in Season 5, given his increased presence in Season 4.
Filming Has Yet To Begin – Because The Cast Didn’t Know About Season 5

It appears that filming for Season 5 hasn’t started yet, primarily because the cast wasn’t informed until we were. In an interview with ScreenRant in July 2025, Molly Gordon shared that they were all notified about the renewal just before the public, which has everyone eager to dive back into production.
We’ve also learned about the renewal along with others. An email was sent out not too long ago, which has us all quite thrilled, as it’s a fantastic opportunity to be involved in something new.
When filming starts, we’ll be sure to update this with the news.
I’m eagerly anticipating Season 5 of “The Bear”! Frankly, I can hardly wait to witness all the delectable dishes we’ll be introduced to – it’s time to stock up on fresh ingredients and master new culinary techniques!
