Hey everyone, Playtonic just dropped Yooka-Replaylee on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Switch 2, and PC! It’s basically a remastered version of their 2017 game that felt like a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie. And it’s not just a visual upgrade – they’ve really worked on making everything smoother, from the controls to how the camera works. If you want to see it in action, definitely check out the launch trailer!
Yooka-Replaylee expands on the original game with new levels, enemies, and moves – giving players immediate access to everything they’ve learned. A helpful new feature lets you track exactly how many Pagies are left to collect in each level. Plus, Vendi now sells new Tonics, like Reaper-Laylee which makes you very fragile with only one heart, and Newbee Blast, which creates a protective energy ring after performing a Buddy Slam.
Rextro’s Arcade has been updated! Now, players directly control the dinosaur as they navigate new platforming levels. You can find our full review of *Yooka-Replaylee* for more information. We scored it a 7/10, appreciating its art style, music, and how it plays, though the gameplay is quite similar to previous versions – whether that’s a positive or negative will depend on what you’re looking for.
