If you were disappointed that Ren & Stimpy weren’t included in the recent Nickelodeon Splat Pack release, you’ll be happy to hear Limited Run Games is planning to bring several more retro 16-bit games to the PlayStation 5 soon.
Although we don’t know exactly when the new Ren & Stimpy Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy Collection will be released, you can pre-order physical copies between January 30th and March 1st.
As is often the case with Limited Run Games, there’ll be a few permutations available, as follows:
Standard Edition ($39.99)
- The game on Blu-ray
Classic Edition ($69.99)
- The game on Blu-ray
- VHS slipcover and VHS tape box
- Steelcase
Collector’s Edition ($109.99)
- The game on Blu-ray
- VHS slipcover and VHS tape box
- Steelcase
- CD soundtrack
- 12″ x 16″ double-sided poster
- Mini cartridge replica collection
- Acrylic standee diorama
- Crazy caps (x6)
- Trading cards (x5)
This collection includes five games, with many versions available for classic systems like the NES, SNES, and Game Boy.
The lineup is as follows:
- The Ren & Stimpy Show: Space Cadet Adventures (Game Boy)
- The Ren & Stimpy Show: Veediots! (SNES, Game Boy)
- The Ren & Stimpy Show: Buckeroo$! (NES, SNES)
- The Ren & Stimpy Show: Time Warp (SNES)
- The Ren & Stimpy Show: Fire Dogs (SNES)
Like most modern collections of classic games, each game in this compilation will have helpful features like rewind and quick save. You’ll also be able to listen to the soundtracks and browse artwork from each game.
It’s disappointing that Stimpy’s Invention for the Genesis isn’t part of this collection, as it’s a personal favorite of ours. It likely wasn’t included due to licensing complications, since it was originally released by SEGA.
