‘You’ll Hear About What We’re Doing in Late Summer’: Kratos Actor Spills Next PS5 God of War’s Reveal Plans

Christopher Judge, the actor who voices Kratos in God of War, may have accidentally revealed details about the next game in the series.

During a recent fan event, the actor casually mentioned that updates on their next project would likely come around late summer. This timeframe matches recent speculation that Santa Monica Studio’s next big PlayStation 5 game is planned for a 2027 release.

Judge shared in a video that TC Carson will once again voice Kratos in the upcoming remake of the God of War trilogy, meaning Judge won’t be part of the project. He also mentioned the remake will include updated technology and a completely new combat system.

He then shared news about Santa Monica Studio’s next project, hinting it will be a completely new game, not connected to anything they’ve done before. There’s a lot of speculation that it will be based on the mythology of Ancient Egypt.

I’d been hearing whispers for a while that we’d finally get some news about the game later this year, with a release probably happening in 2027. So, I’m really hoping we’ll see an announcement during a PlayStation State of Play, maybe around the time of Summer Game Fest. Though, the developer did mention ‘late summer,’ which makes me think we might have to wait a bit longer… unless they’re just being a little mysterious!

Things are starting to heat up around this project, and it looks like details are emerging. Are you looking forward to seeing what Santa Monica Studio has been working on? We likely won’t have to wait much longer to learn more.
