This summer, it appears that many movie enthusiasts are making the most of the season by flocking to cinemas in droves. For weeks now, screenings have been filled with joyful and eager fans as successful films such as “How To Train Your Dragon”, “Lilo & Stitch”, and what seems like countless others have raked in profits. Instead of wondering if they’ll catch these movies, most fans are more concerned about how they’ll manage to see them.
At its most basic, the question is whether or not to opt for premium formats, and as premium formats go, there is no bigger game in town than IMAX. We’ve been working alongside the innovative brand for the past few years to learn more about how the tech works and how they collaborate with filmmakers. More recently, we decided to talk directly to fans and ask what it is they like about IMAX so much. Here’s a roundup of what they told us…
You’ll find that several common ideas emerge when examining those responses. Time and time again, fans mentioned that IMAX gives them a sense of being present. This sensation makes them feel as if they are immersed in whatever action is unfolding. It eliminates the boundary between them and the movie, allowing them to fully immerse themselves, which is generally what viewers aim for.
This summer, there’s an abundance of opportunities for catching some exciting blockbuster films on the giant screens of IMAX! Movies like “F1”, “Superman”, and “Fantastic Four” have been specifically designed for this large format, ensuring they’ll be hot topics throughout the season. These are the kind of movies you’d love to experience with a full house, and luckily, AMC Theatres will be hosting numerous IMAX screenings all summer long.
You can purchase or pre-order your tickets from the AMC Theatres website, where you’ll find any of the three featured movies currently on sale or available to pre-order.
