Stacey Tourout and Matthew Yeomans‘ loved ones are in mourning.

The Toyota World Runners, a couple known on social media, tragically passed away in a car accident on August 7, according to confirmations from their respective families, in British Columbia, Canada.

With profound sorrow, the families of Matthew Peter Yeomans and Stacey Tourout share the devastating news that they were both taken too soon, having suffered fatal injuries in a tragic off-road accident in the stunning mountains of British Columbia, a place they cherished deeply. This heartbreaking message was posted on Facebook by Colleen Tourot, Stacey’s mother, on August 11.

She said, ‘Remember both of them in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this heartbreaking conclusion to a wonderful Love Story. Fate has united them for eternity, just as we had anticipated.’

According to Mark Jennings-Bate, the manager from Kaslo Search and Rescue, Stacey and Matthew were discovered quite a distance north in the valley, heading towards Trout Lake village, which is approximately 400 miles northeast of Vancouver.

He told CBC that our team managed to reach them quickly and effectively, despite it being quite a long trip.”

The original sentence conveys the same meaning as the paraphrased version but in a more formal tone. The paraphrased version is more natural and easy to read, making it easier for people to understand the message.

Upon their helicopter arrival, an official reported that one passenger had already passed away upon arrival, whereas the other succumbed to their injuries at a local hospital later on.

TopMob News has reached out to Kaslo Search and Rescue for comment and has not yet heard back.

This pair, who wandered life from their Toyota, were well-acquainted with nature, spending their time traversing mountains, woods, and gorges. Matthew had popped the question to Stacey right in front of Mount Fitz Roy, a majestic peak straddling Argentina and Chile.

Today, two dreams I held dear for a long time finally became reality, as he posted on Facebook in April 2024. This moment, which I had envisioned for years after our first date, was worth the wait. Driving across America together in a custom-built vehicle has not only strengthened our bond but also demonstrated that we are an extraordinary team.

Following 16 months and visits to 16 different countries, we’ve finally arrived at this incredible mountain that has been a dream of mine for many years, which used to grace the vision board in my bachelor apartment. Moreover, I proposed to Stacey right here, making her my forever partner. The moment couldn’t have been more ideal and uniquely us.
