Good luck taking your eyes off Zac Efron’s new hairdo.
Zac Efron, known for his role in *High School Musical*, surprised fans with a new hair color while on vacation. He was joined by Nina Dobrev, who recently ended her engagement to Shaun White, as well as friends Chace Crawford, Miles Teller, and Keleigh Teller.
On a recent boat trip, 37-year-old Zac debuted a new bleached blonde hairstyle in a photo shared on Keleigh’s Instagram on September 18th. He was pictured with a group of friends on a yacht.
This isn’t the first time the actor from *The Iron Claw* has experimented with a lighter hair color. He previously showed off platinum blonde hair at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2019, but later explained he wouldn’t be keeping the color for very long.
Zac said to Entertainment Tonight in April that he didn’t think it was likely, explaining it would require a lot of effort and chemicals.
The actor explained that he only changed his appearance because he lost a bet, but he also revealed he’d briefly gone blonde as a child, inspired by someone he admired growing up.
“Eminem was cool when I was growing up,” he noted, adding, “This is my ‘Stan’ coming out.”
In 2016, Zac Efron brought back a hairstyle from his younger days – the crimped hair he had when he was in eighth grade.
He shared with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that he went to an arts camp when he was young. He was the only boy there, surrounded by older girls who styled his hair, and he loved it.
