As a big fan of Zack Snyder’s work, I was really excited to see him post some stuff recently that brought Darkseid back into the conversation! He was looking back at images from Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and it’s got everyone talking again about how awesome – and scary – Darkseid is. With the anniversary of the film coming up, it’s a great time to remember just how powerful that villain is in the DC Universe.
Darkseid returns in Zack Snyder’s Justice League photo
To mark the upcoming anniversary of his film Zack Snyder’s Justice League on March 18th, Zack Snyder recently posted a new picture of the villain Darkseid. He also pointed out that, despite being a major DC Comics character, Darkseid has only appeared in live-action films in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
This Instagram post is part of a recent trend where Zack Snyder has been sharing content related to his original plans for the Justice League. He’s recently posted images featuring Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Henry Cavill as Superman, and Wayne T. Carr as John Stewart – all characters from the story he previously created for the movies.
In Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Darkseid is a powerful villain with a long connection to Earth’s past, driven by his quest for the Anti-Life Equation. The movie features flashbacks to an ancient war where Darkseid’s army from Apokolips battled a united force of humans, Atlanteans, and Amazons defending Earth.
The movie centers around Darkseid, the ruler of Apokolips, and his invasion of Earth. He sends his general, Steppenwolf, to gather powerful artifacts called Mother Boxes and conquer the planet. Throughout the story, Darkseid watches Steppenwolf’s progress from Apokolips, overseeing the operation.
Original plans for the Justice League movies envisioned Darkseid as the main villain in future installments. The sequels, Justice League 2 and 3, would have built upon the conflict between Earth’s heroes and the planet Apokolips, continuing the story started in the first film.
