Zendaya didn’t have to look too far to know Tom Holland was right for her.

A year after announcing their engagement, the Euphoria actress revealed a key sign of trouble in a relationship, describing a simple way to tell if someone in the entertainment industry is worth being with.

Zendaya recently shared what’s important to her on set: how actors treat the entire crew. In an interview with Robert Pattinson for Interview magazine, she explained that she really respects people who are consistently kind to everyone – not just the main players like actors, directors, and producers. Zendaya believes how the crew feels about an actor is a true sign of their character, because the crew sees how they behave when they’re not performing.

I absolutely adore how Zendaya clearly loves her dog! It really resonated with me when she agreed with Robert – he’s expecting a baby with Suki Waterhouse, by the way – that you can really tell a lot about a person by how they treat their pets. It’s so true!

She firmly stated she’d defend her dog without hesitation, adding that dogs have a knack for recognizing a person’s true nature.

Things are not necessarily so hard and fast when it comes to forming relationships, though. 

Zendaya explained that people are complicated and everyone makes errors. While cultural differences exist, some behaviors are simply universally considered rude or unkind – and the same is true in reverse; some actions are universally kind.

She explained that people can change even after you’ve known them for years, or you might discover hidden depths to their personality that you never expected.

Zendaya has talked about what initially attracted her to Tom, whom she began publicly dating in 2021.

Oh my gosh, let me tell you, Tom Holland just radiates charisma! Not like those actors in Dune – though they’re fine, I guess – but he’s just naturally gifted. I’m pretty shy and reserved, so it takes a lot for me to really open up. But Tom? He’s amazing at connecting with people, just striking up a conversation and making them feel comfortable. You can see it even when he’s on talk shows – he’s just a natural! He’s so good at making everyone feel at ease, it’s incredible.

The couple had a stylish night out in New York City on February 16th, celebrating Valentine’s Day a little late.

Tom revealed a new photo of himself for his 27th birthday, playfully captioning it on Instagram, “A gift from me to you – maybe the hottest picture of me ever!” Zendaya responded with a heart-eyes emoji, clearly impressed.

Zendaya seemed inspired by her character from Challengers when she attended the BNP Paribas Open Men’s Final in Indian Wells, California, with Tom Holland and her assistant, Darnell Appling.

The two enjoyed a night out in London.

After Tom’s play, Romeo and Juliet, premiered in London, Zendaya was there to support him. They were photographed holding hands as they left the theater.

When Tom launched his new non-alcoholic beer brand, Bero, Zendaya supported him while wearing a matching burgundy outfit.

While visiting Zendaya on the set of her movie, The Drama, in Newbury, Massachusetts, the pair went out for a beer from Bero.

Tom announced on Instagram that he was going to try a ‘Bero’ – a popular drink – for the first time at a bar. He shared a photo of his girlfriend smiling and promised to share how it went.
