Son of a nutcracker, Zooey Deschanel‘s relationship with her ex-husband is goals.
Zooey Deschanel talked about how her fiancé, Jonathan Scott, gets along with her ex-husband, Jacob Pechenik. They share two children together: a 10-year-old daughter named Elsie and an 8-year-old son named Charlie.
Zooey shared on the December 16th episode of Call Her Daddy that she thinks her kids’ father is a wonderful dad, and she always wants to be supportive of his parenting.
The 45-year-old revealed she’s in a really good place with her ex-husband, Jonathan, and his partner, Jacob—whom she married in 2015 and divorced in 2020. She believes keeping a strong relationship with them has been essential for her children’s well-being, and they even have a group chat together.
My children do best when they feel loved and supported by everyone in our group,” she said. “We spend time together, like going on trips, and we’ve supported each other through many challenges.
The actress from 500 Days of Summer shared what has helped her and Jacob maintain a positive co-parenting relationship after their split.
She advised letting go of any anger, admitting it might sound hard but is actually quite simple. Her main concern was the children’s happiness and well-being.
She said she respects his perspective as a parent, even though they don’t always agree. He, in turn, respects her opinions.

Although everyone is getting along well as a new blended family, Zooey mentioned she was very cautious when she first introduced her children to Jonathan, whom she started dating in 2019.
Divorce brings a lot of uncertainty, but one of the biggest challenges is how your children will bond with anyone new you start seeing. Kids naturally form attachments to people they spend time with, so it’s important not to underestimate those connections.
I didn’t want the kids to form a bond with someone who wouldn’t be around long-term, so we created a careful process for introducing partners. We made sure it was a serious decision before letting anyone meet the children.

There’s absolutely no chance they’re getting back together. However, with all the recent interactions – birthday celebrations, affectionate hugs, and even playfully acting out a romantic scene during the Fast Times at Ridgemont High virtual reading – it feels like they’re just teasing everyone who’s hoping for a reconciliation.

Sarah proved she’s incredibly confident – and maybe a little mischievous – when she appeared on her ex-husband Jimmy’s talk show. She was there to promote her new series, I Love You, America, but couldn’t resist playfully teasing Jimmy about his wife, Molly Kimmel, describing her as “cute,” “bright,” and “funny.” Jokingly, Sarah complained, “It’s not fair! She got the updated, more aware Jimmy. I only had the Man Show Jimmy.”

Honestly, it seems like some people are still more affected by this relationship than the people who were actually in it. When Anna—who is now married to Michael Barrett—found out Chris Pratt was going to marry Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019, she volunteered to perform the wedding ceremony. She even sent a gift when their daughter, Lyla, was born in August 2020. A source told TopMob News that Anna was “very supportive” and excited for her son, Jack, to have a little sister.

Their breakup could have easily led to disaster, but four years later, these HGTV stars are thriving. They’re successfully co-parenting their children, Taylor and Brayden, and continuing to renovate dilapidated houses into beautiful homes for others.

Oh my gosh, they’re basically soulmates, you guys! Lenny Kravitz actually said they were “best friends” when he talked to Oprah back in 2013. And even after everything, they still feel like family! He described his ex, Zoe’s mom, as part of one big happy family, and how beautiful it is that they can still make it work, even after she married Jason Momoa and then they split in 2020. It’s just…goals, honestly! They prove anything is possible.

Since announcing their split in 2020, the Dancing With the Stars co-host and her former hockey player husband have consistently shown they remain friendly.

Even years after The Office ended in 2013, the chemistry between Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak still makes fans root for them as a couple. Mindy understands why people continue to ‘ship’ them, admitting that if she were an outside observer, she’d feel the same way. However, she explained to Good Housekeeping in 2019 that B.J. is now more like family than just a friend, especially as he’s a godfather to her children.

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore are famously friendly exes, and their commitment to co-parenting daughters Rumer, Tallulah, and Scout is clear. It’s no surprise they decided to quarantine together in Idaho when the pandemic hit – maybe they even had a dance party!

Even four years after their 2014 split, Jennifer Lopez still spoke highly of her ex-husband, and the father of her twins, Max and Emme. In a 2018 interview on Sunday Today, she explained that Marc Anthony had been a major source of encouragement during their marriage. Lopez deeply respected him, considering him one of the greatest singers ever.
